What is with the home games this year? They’ve all been uglier than possum roadkill. Gotta get that figured out.

EDIT: I mean, beside the obvious not having a home crowd. It’s the offense that most concerns me at home.

Play like this in the playoffs and it's one and done.

11-4!

Man, can't concede the Titans game that quick. We have a shot.

:laughing I think they’ll win that one too

Blah. Won the 1st quarter, lost the rest of the game. Any playoff team beats this team when this type of play happens. Rodgers lost the MVP tonight. Its out of his hands. Mahomes has to lose it now to bring Rodgers back just in the conversation. Feels worse than the TB game and we won.

I can't speak for everyone but the Tampa game felt way worse. This wasn't nearly the top of our best games but I'm certainly not going to feel worse about a win than getting our teeth kicked in by Tampa.

You certainly speak for me. An 8 point win vs a talented young team that's not very good feels a helluva lot better than getting beaten badly.

This game shouldn't have been this close, but this is the same team that lost on a last-second FG to KC.

Wins matter quite a bit more than style points in the NFL.

Worse than the Tampa game? Sheesh, no offense, but that sounds a tad entitled. Winning in the NFL, even against poor teams, is tough.

panthers lost to saints by 3 and to chiefs by 2.

they've had some bad luck. solid team.

The MVP award is inconsequential to me. I hope Rodgers wins it but getting back to the Super Bowl is far more important. He didn't do anything to win it tonight but he didn't do anything to lose it either.

Agreed. I do want to see Rodgers win it, but if Mahomes throwing 4 TD's to beat the Saints tomorrow wins it for him, I'll take that and the Packers getting the top seed over Rodgers winning it.

He wasn't missing throws, he didn't make mistakes. We played a young defense that looks really good and the Packers just weren't clicking.

But after we got up 21-3, everything we did was pretty vanilla. We need to put teams away, but acting like this game was a loss is confusing to me. We're still the top team in the NFC heading into a big game vs the Titans.

Bear in mind, I didn't find an avenue to watch this game until Carolina took their 3rd possession inside GB territory. So I watched maybe 135 yards of offense with what felt like more 3 and outs than 1st downs and Carolina out scoring us 13-10. The only player that I seen on offense make a I'm a better than you play was Dillon's run. Everybody else on the field on offense looked like they weren't any better. I can think of 1 MVS target. What an ugly game by him after last week.

Defensively, the secondary(sans King) was really good. 1 big play given up on the missed tackle that happens when you sandwich a guy that actually keeps him fully upright. So many passes broken up, I dont remember a game with that many.

I just don't know. Far too many short throws, don't recall much misdirection presnap, just laid down and quit. Offensive playcalling, hurry up,urgency, wanting it more.

MVS needs to show more consistency, something I said last week as well. After all the praise he received after the Lions game, and rightfully so, I said he could just as easily come out the very next game and stink it up. He obviously wasn't getting open and the only solace you can take from this is at least he wasn't dropping passes or fumbling because he was such a non factor he didn't have a chance to.

The one great thing we can take out of this game is the defense is playing their best ball right now and hopefully this will carry into the playoffs. As I type this I can't believe I'm saying that the defense is playing better ball than the offense right now.

I can understand some frustration but teams aren’t always going to play at their peak level. Even super bowl winning teams don’t. The offensive line had a rough night with a young hungry defensive team. Heck, even ML warned everyone about this Panthers team. They aren’t a bad club. I’m sure the offensive line will be more than okay moving forward and we will be alright. Our defensive did a great job of situational football. Held Bridgewater 10% less on his accuracy than his season stats due to some very good plays in the secondary. And of course, Crosby is the stud we all have known him to be.

If the defense would have been just carved up all day and we would have won a 42-35 type shootout I'd be more concerned. The offense just had a lousy half. I don't think anyone is too worried about the offense holding us back in January. Based on the body of the entire season I expect the offense to look closer to how they did in the first half yesterday rather than the second half.

More thoughts than usual this morning:

1)Reposting: I'll take an ugly win over a pretty loss any day. In the end, the Packers beat Carolina by more than the Chiefs and Saints combined.

2)They clearly have a problem with letting the foot off the gas. You can afford to do that vs. a team like the Eagles or the Panthers, apparently, but not against a good team (cough.... Colts...).

3)I looked at Davante's stats, and he's having a crazy year despite missing those early games. If he had played all 16, he'd be on pace for one of the best WR seasons in team history.

4)The second half offensive game plan was weird to say the least. You have a lead, and stop running the ball almost entirely? Weird. Constantly throwing bubble screens with little effectiveness? Weird. I get wanting Davante with the ball in space, and he's great at making guys miss. But the Panthers tackle well, and did so yesterday. Just weird. That last third down, the Panthers literally knew what play was coming, it appeared.

5)Rough day for the o-line in pass pro. Clearly, the Packers feel that their best five linemen with Linsley out includes Wagner and not Runyan, which is fair. But I wonder if shifting Patrick from right to left is effecting his play as well. Turner seems to be one of the odd players where he plays better at tackle than guard.

6)Like it or not for those that want Pettine gone, the defense is playing much better. They really need a lot of credit for yesterday. The offense played terribly and kept the defense on the field the whole second half, and they did what they needed to. Oddly, I thought the 'new' aggressiveness hurt them yesterday. Carolina picked up the blitzes fairly well, and that often left Bridgewater with open guys and/or running lanes for himself to take off. I actually think the 'cover first' strategy might have worked better yesterday overall, but again, they weren't the reason the game was close.

7)How great is Mason Crosby? Such a great luxury to not really worry about FGs while watching other teams struggle to find a competent guy year after year. Scott had a nice day yesterday when he needed to- that last punt was great and necessary, especially considering how absurdly close it was to getting blocked.

8)Someone is going to give Kevin King a decent amount of money, and they're going to regret it almost immediately. He's an inconsistent corner when he's on the field as we saw yesterday. Add in the constant nagging injury concerns, and I truly hope it's not the Packers that give him that big contract. 8(B). For the record, I also think that whoever gives Jones his big contract will also regret it at some point, though I think it'll be a year or two before it gets to that point, but I digress.

9)The MVP debate: I want Rodgers to win it. Obviously. But, MVP vs. Super Bowl chances, you take the latter every time. If Mahomes throws five TDs today to put himself in the driver's seat for MVP, but it makes the Packers the huge favorites for the 1 seed, sign me up for that.

10)Z has quietly had a monster season in a lot of ways. I didn't realize his sack number until last week, and now he's at 11.5. What a fantastic signing.

11)Speaking of great signings from last year, how good has Amos been the past few weeks? There's a lot of thought about his contract going forward, but both he and Savage have really come on as the season has gone on. Add in Alexander, and you have really, really good secondary play right now. And their strong second-half of the season play certainly has contributed to the solidification of the defense....

12)I think the Titans have the ability to embarrass us with the run like SF did last year. If they're smart (and they might be), they'll feed Henry and make us stop it, which we probably can't all day. If they use SF's formula, we lose. But, a good test and a game that makes you feel a heck of a lot better about this team if you find a way to win it.

They stopped running jet sweep action and motion for some reason. I love the jet sweep action + guard pull run plays. Seems to always give a good hole to Jones.

The saints have a good defense so its not like mahomes can't have a mediocre performance today even if they win.

Yep. For the hand wringing going on about this game, the (now one win jets) just beat the Rams.

Sounds like they can’t win the Super Bowl now.
