Game 8 recap: Bay Street Pub 17, Brewerfan.net 11

Jimbo

The Brewerfan skid hits four tonight, but the silver lining is The Crew battle back from being down 17-2 to make the final score somewhat respectable. Radman in a spot start did OK, and added two key hits.

You guys did a great job tonight, I thought. Not very many errors, and a lot of line drives. They're obviously playing in the league to compensate for other areas in their lives that they're lacking.

On the plus side, they weren't as obnoxious as they had been in the past... Hopefully next year the trend will continue.

Talk about locker room material!

This would never happen in the Madison leagues due to their promotion/relagation concept.

About last week's game: I know Joe and Valpo played SS, but who played the start and who finished. Just want to get the stats down right.

Valpo started and Joe replaced him. I don't remember the inning.

Sorry about my sucktitude at the plate this year. I'm hoping to earn Corporate Sponsor presents the Comeback Player of the Year next year.

The problem with promotion/regulation is that in '05 my Fall team won the championship even though we were probably the 4th best team in the league. We got a couple of unbelievable wins (think Bf.net's first win against White House) and got the games we weren't in to fall just right to win the league by .5 game. We then got destroyed last year since we lost our starting SS, our 2B was hurt, and that was when I (starting 3B) was sick. I don't know if we would have scored a run if we were promoted. Also, we came into this year knowing some of the teams and players since the league is pretty similar to last year.

EA Sports...It's in the game...until we arbitrarily decide to shut off the server.

Sorry for the poor pitching outing. That was the first time I pitched in wind carrying out that bad. I guess it just topped a bad week for me with my idol (up until this week) being a murderer. Hopefully everything will have calmed down next week and be all good.

Mr. Rad Man,

You did just fine pitching yesterday. Yea, you walked a few guys, but just a few. Its not really your fault that they were crushing them mercilessly. After all, it IS softball. Its not like you can throw them something off-speed.

I thought the pitching was pretty good. The scoring rally we had was pretty nice as well. That came right after I commented to Matt how our bats seemed to go silent the past couple of weeks, at least to the point that we couldn't put together sustained drives like we were early in the season.

I was impressed how Bay Street was going to RC and RF as much as they were. They hardly pulled any pitches at all. I missed the Bay Street games last year, so I never got to see how bad they were, as I thought they were fine both times we played them.

That had to be my worst game of the year. A pop out and a foul out, both of which ended innings, misplaying an easy foul ball and getting thrown out at second trying to stretch a single. All I have to show for it is a nasty skid mark on my leg. Boo-urns.

Kenny, how many positions are you away from playing them all? RC and P? We've got to make that happen.

I know I can't throw off speed pitches. Bay Street has it share of good hitters. I was disappointed in the walks, plus the wind didn't help anything.

I would love to pitch the last two weeks. I should do a lot better against Landmark.

Yeah, not a whole lot we could do about that...they were hitting it well to the middle of the field and to right, not trying to pull the heck out of it. On a positive note, I think the sixth inning was the first time in three games where we strung a whole bunch of hits together (hmmm, coincided with my only hit in three days...sorry about the coldness at the plate guys). Anyway, the pitching was fine and I wouldnt be opposed to playing SS some more next week. We can still finish .500!

You are at short next week.

I was happy with our game as well.

That team sprayed the ball all over the place. We tried pretty hard and put some runs on the board. Nothing wrong with that.
