Oy. What a kick in the pants.

Man that was tough, gotta hand it to Carlton and Marquette though, they pushed it up and didn't let the Badgers defense force them into tough shots at the end.

Not sure why they kept letting him go. Did Trice expect help? They were literally giving him the lane

Maybe they thought with 15 seconds left they would hold for last shot? Sort of caught the Badgers flat footed the entire last minute.

That was an odd game. I was impressed by Marquette's balance and intensity. Lewis, Garcia and Carton are going to be a load for a couple years. Nobody played well for UW. Trice had a couple moments and Davis looks like an impressive youngster but on the whole nobody could hit a shot and everybody was just a half step off all night long. Still, the game was there for them at the end.

Hopefully we get some close game karma back in a more meaningful B1G game later this year.

It's a decent squad but no away Badgers are 4th best in the nation.

Too soon to say what a team is or isn’t. You’d be surprised how weak some of the elite teams are this year. Wisconsin has a fairly solid team...maybe not a ton of difference making talent, but certainly a group that should play well as a team and be pretty productive.

I agree but I think they're more in the 10 to 15 range not in the top five.

I was more impressed with MU than I was disappointed in UW.

At least from my expectations Davison may be the most disappointing player I can remember. I know he is a solid all around glue player but he was hyped as one of the best shooters in the country as a recruit and has really never had the improvement over his career that you see in so many Badger basketball players. Every time he shoots I cringe.

The whole team just didn't play that well and still should have won it if not for a stupid foul at the end. Nice thing about college basketball is one regular season loss doesn't mean that much.

Apparently, the game against Louisville on Wednesday has been postponed due to positive Covid tests from Louisville. Looks like it will get re-scheduled. Instead, Rhode Island will travel to Madison and play UW.

Badgers game with Northern Iowa postponed. They have scheduled Loyola Chicago last minute. They play tonight. Looks like the Louisville game is scheduled for this Saturday. Nebraska on the docket for next Tuesday. Subject to change at any minute.

Wonder if they were inspired by these:

I didn't tune in until the 2nd half but they said Louisville was missing some players. Still, you would think their backups wouldn't get smoked like they're Praire View A&M. Badgers had a couple of solid wins in those fill in games with Rhode Island and Loyola leading up to this as well.

MSU gets handled by NW.

Right now the odds of UW winning the National Title this year are probably 10-100 times greater than the odds of them winning the B1G title last year were at this time.

That certainly doesn't mean they are decent odds, just that numbers can get funny quick when approaching 0.

I haven't see Baylor play, but I've caught a lot of the rest of the top 20. Gonzaga is clearly the only great team right now. UW should be favored against pretty much everybody else. Crazy to think about considering the turmoil the program has gone thru the last 4 years.

I am very curious to see how Gonzaga plays against Virginia. I think a slow tempo team might cause them problems.
