Frank Kaminsky makes a bit of sense...drafting Markus Howard or signing Sam Dekker on the other hand does not make much sense to me...other than the fact they are from Wisconsin.

I agree, for actual bench contributors the Bucks can do better than a scrap heap of Euro guys and 2nd round rookies. Kaminsky makes a lot of sense but he's a better player than the role he would get with the Bucks. I think they will have no shortage of options willing to come on board.

Markus does intrigue me because he appears to be good at basketball (albeit sloppy) with some upside but he should be in the G league in 2021, not filling a spot deep on the bench.

I'm guessing Kaminsky gets more than league minimum, but you never know. He might be wiling to sacrifice a million or two to play in Milwaukee. Obviously, he would have to feel comfortable with the team's plan for him. But if he thinks he can thrive, he might be intrigued. I think he's dealt with a lot of uncertainty in his career - and losing teams. A winning, more stable club might be a big lure.

Looks like the Bucks traded with Orlando and now have the 45th pick too

That should go along with #42 (bought from the Pelicans) and #60 (part of the Holiday deal), per Eric Nehm on 1260 AM The Fan this morning.

Bobby Marks says they did not get #42. Guess we'll find out in a few hours!

Nehm was adamant that they did, despite the conflicting reports. He's been pretty accurate in the past. He did say that #42 will still show up as a Pelicans pick because apparently the trade cannot become official until after the draft, but that pick is being made by the Bucks.

The way the NBA lords over trade announcements is so weird and stupid.

I looked up Kaminsky a few weeks ago because I thought he would fit as a backup F/C in our system (3pt shooter/defense), but he is under a club option for 2020-21, so I didn't mention anything. His contract has him at $5M, so similar to Robin's option. If he is let go, I'd assume he might go for a bit less; especially if it is a home-town discount.

Uh Oh

So the Kings agreed to a sign-and-trade deal with one of their players without checking it out with the player first? Holy crap!

Seeing chatter that this might be to avoid any tampering talk.

Right, anything is possible but hard to believe the Kings wouldn't have addressed this or the Bucks confirming it. I mean, you would think before any trade is made to would want to be sure the player is cool with coming here whether it's in his contract or not?

Apparently, the deal is dead(as of now)...Bogdanovic is going to enter free agency looking for other sign and trade options.

That is a MASSIVE blow to the Bucks. What can they do to recover from this? Now use the MLE and hope the market is suppressed enough to get a Harris type player to sign?

I don't know, this whole thing sounds weird. He wanted to come to Milwaukee, but other GM's were upset that the two teams had already worked out a deal.

In order for it to be a ruse to avoid tampering, wouldn't the team that's been "wrong" have to file a claim and pay for an investigation into tampering?

I hope you're right...but I'm not real confident. He DID say he wanted to play with Giannis...so I don't know. I guess the Kings would just match whatever he signs for and then flip him to the Bucks as he's a RFA. Though I doubt we'd do that since he's said he doesn't want to come here.

When this first happened, there were people saying they were surprised they'd be moving on from Bogdan as it looked more like Heild would be the one on the way out. Maybe the Bucks can still pull off a trade for Buddy Hield?

Edit-The post I was replying to is now gone...but it said that someone on Twitter was convinced it was still going to happen and that his was a ruse to avoid tampering charges.

I'm inclined to believe the Lakers themselves may have also tampered and told Bogdan he was their top priority since they were in heavy pursuit of him as well. We'll see how it plays out.

I'm not sure but this news is bumming me out now. Hoping its just a ruse because another team that wanted to sign him could argue tampering because they didn't get a chance? Guess we will just have to wait and see.

It's weird...some people are saying it's that, other are saying there was NEVER any agreement and the Bucks just kept hoping it'd happen.

I mean...the Kings could just match any offer he got(assuming it wasn't ridiculous) and trade him anyway.

I wonder how high they are on DD. The reason people were surprised by this from what I've gleaned, was they thought Hield would be the guy who'd get dealt, not Bogdan.

Maybe the Bucks swing a deal for him? I don't know what other than DD they've got...butt...who knows. The Bucks will add at least one more SOLID guard one way or another.

I know Bogdanović was a better fit for being the type of player the Bucks want to surround Giannis with, but not losing a talented young player in DiVincenzo wouldn’t seem like the worst consolation prize? I guess at least assuming Giannis ultimately does sign the supermax.
Not just “at Night” anymore.

Really bizarre situation with Bogdanovic. I hope it ultimately goes through. I read the NBA was none-to-happy about the agreement. It flaunts the rules - rules most teams don't follow. Perhaps if they had not been so blatant about it.

We shall see.

Yeah, the story that Bogdanovic is going to leave, most likely to the Knicks, Hornetts or another team(a 3rd bad team) rather than the Bucks, a place he wanted to go, doesn't make sense to me.

I really like DD, but this trade seemed to put them over the top when it comes to the playoffs.

#45 is their only pick tonight correct?

They've got the 42nd(according to a few outlets) and the 60th. But those will technically be the Pelicans picks.

Definitely the 45th and the 60th picks though. Pretty sure it's the 42nd as well as it's just one guy who says we don't while most others say we did get the 42nd in return.
