Cron, yes. Miller, no.

Miller is way too similar to Eric Sogard to me. Former Brewer coming off two years better than expected since he left, only to (likely) stink upon return. I'd rather have Robertson and Urias get 3B.

While there are similarities, Miller has crushed RHP since leaving MKE. .939 vs RHP in 2019 and .828 in 2020. Between Miller and Robertson we would have 2 guys that complement each other very well as our 3B platoon, and both have a little positional flexibility on their bench days.

Can disagree with statistics. Miller simply has no upside to me at age 31and the situation feels too familiar with Sogard. I guess it just comes down to I would rather give time to Robertson (age 26) and Urias (age 23) and see if they can reclaim their shine rather than go with Miller.

If the Brewers rolled out a lineup of the following, would it be good enough with Burnes and Woodruff at the top of the rotation and Hader and Williams at the back end:

Player 1: .288/.348/.761

Player 2: .296/.388/.870

Player 3: .266/.388/.843

Player 4: .271/.324/.746

Player 5: .267/.355/.753

Player 6: .206/.332/.741

Player 7: .226/.315/.635

Player 8: .244/.295/.660

Those are the career averages of every current projected starter for the Brewers. If the top five (Cain, Yelich, Hiura, Garcia, Narvaez) meet that and Player 7 (Urias) jumps that to around .250 and keeps the AVG-OBP in the 80-90 differential, the Brewers could be in relatively decent shape.

Hearing Stearns all offseason, this has always been the plan. Assume 2020 was the aberration and each of the regulars will return to their career averages, with Urias ascending. Risky proposition but not out of the realm of possibility.

Hader/Hiura to the Mets for Smith/McNeil?

Would love it but I think the Mets value McNeil super high.

I would do Hader, Hiura, and they could pick 2 of any our prospects for Smith and McNeil.

The trade value site (I know, I'm a skeptic too) says Hader/Hiura/Turang is almost equal value to Smith/McNeil, and I'd do that trade today. Solidifies both corners and fixes the offense.

Without a doubt I would do that trade. Smith is a little bit of an unknown but McNeil would be our Cirillo for many years.

I am not in love with Dominic Smith but I would love to get my hands on Jeff McNeil. He just screams professional hitter ala Paul Molitor, Jeff Cirillo, Mark Loretta. Hader and Hiura feels a little steep to me given Hiura is 4 years younger than McNeil and could, in time, develop into that professional hitter type.

Perhaps a Hader, Hiura, Lutz for McNeil, Smith and Nimmo trade. That feels more in line to me.
