Hot debate going on in a 12 man league I'm in with pretty considerable $$ payout to league winner and second place. 6 teams make the playoffs.

On Sunday, a player who was not in the playoffs (and doesn't follow football all that closely to begin with) checked his lineup, saw that Adam Theilen was out, so he dropped him to pick up another WR. One of the teams in the playoffs saw and was able to pick up Theilen and have the claim processed ahead of the Monday night game.

Last place in league penalty was determined based on regular season standings so the player who dropped Theilen was setting his lineup for a game that was quite literally meaningless, and a top player like Theilen was dropped to waivers and ultimately added by one of the teams still in contention for the $$. Should the team that claimed Theilen be allowed to play him?

League is pretty split - half say that when your out of contention for money, you shouldn't be making any waiver claims. Other half says that's just part of being in a league with guys who don't follow all that closely.

yeah i think once you are out of contention you shouldn't be making waiver claims. That being said, I don't think it should be a league rule, but should be an unwritten rule. I wouldn't be picking up or dropping players once I am out. You have to play with these guys next season, so why piss them off over nothing.

My league does pay out the consolation bracket champion their league fee back, so technically you are not out of it once the playoffs start.

My league pays weekly high score to make sure that everyone stays invested until the playoffs. Once the playoffs start the teams not in it should not be making claims though. One of my other leagues still paid high score during the playoffs(unless you were in the playoffs). Then adding players outside the playoff matchups would be legit.

It should absolutely be a written rule that those not in playoffs should not be making moves. My dynasty league also has a rule that any transactions made after cutoff date (week before playoffs) are ineligible to be kept. So if someone dropped Thielen in this instance, he would be a free agent in next year's draft (rookies and FA eligible).

8 team league, TD-heavy. Naj Harris, Joe Mixon, James Robinson, Saquon Barkley, Cordarelle Patterson, Jeff Wilson. D Adams, Deebo Samuel, Diontae Johnson. 2 RBs, 2 WRs, and a flex.

RB Harris, WR Adams and WR Samuel seem to be locks, but I'm unsure on RB2 and flex...

Dynasty RB:

Chubb or Mixon?

Dynasty WR:

Deebo or Metcalf?

RB is basically a pick em. I'd lean towards Mixon. WR is probably Samuel with the added carries and a good chance Russ leaves Seattle this year.

just got a small Christmas present from Santa.

Saw an email alert over lunch that Dalvin Cook has COVID and was able to pick up Mattison before anyone else. He can replace Ekeler, if he does miss time for his COVID

Between injuries and players being out with COVID on a weekly basis, whomever wins a league will be one lucky guy, more than skilled.

I know everyone is dealing with it, but my 1st rd pick was Henry (OUT), 2nd Ekeler (COVID), 3rd AJ Brown (may return tonight), 4th Evans (Questionable), 5th Hockenson (OUT), and 6th Murray (was hurt and hasn't been the same since he returned) its a miracle to be a 2 seed in the semi's. Thank God i got Patterson early in the season off of waivers.

Are you 0.5 PPR or 1 PPR? If 0.5, I’d go Chubb and Deebo. And would be completely unsurprised and wouldn’t think twice if you went the other direction.

Yeah it's tough. I have it as almost a wash both ways. I had an offer out there for DK for Deebo, but I'm in the semis right now. I stuck with Deebo. Maybe will revisit in the offseason.

I'd play both JRob and Cordarelle this week personally. Tough call though.

I'm in my semis in half PPR and have an offer, Chubb and Donta Foreman for a late 1st (between 1.09 and 1.12) and Ridley. What do you guys think? I hate to sell low on Ridley, but I haven't heard a peep on him for months and worry he may just retire.

There are fantasy leagues with no trade deadline?

I should have clarified this is dynasty. Most of the dynasty leagues I'm in allow trading year round.

If I am up 3.72 points should I bench my Monday night TE or just not really care if he is in or not? Considering the player would get credit for any catch/yards before a fumble I figure he would have to fumble twice and do so in negative yard fashion. With of course him do absolutely nothing else outside of that.

I just thought it was interesting Yahoo gives me a 99% chance to win if I take him out, but only 93% with him in.

If he has no one left I typically sit them that close. Probably arent going to have s point reduction that high. Also probably wont have the guy lose you 4 points either.

Mattison and Chubb would be my call. Cousins is hurt and Mattison seems to have big games when Cook is out. Chubb is the best RB of the bunch.

This is what I went with. I also picked up Justin Jackson on waivers and had him on the bench. Didnt matter as I won by about 30 and still have Gesecki tonight. He even had Dak and Higgins. My team is just loaded in this league. Better waiver claims and trades I've built a powerhouse.

Mahomes

Chubb

Mattison

Deebo

Kupp

Jefferson

Gesecki

Cowboys d

Carlson

With a bench of Miles Sanders, MG3, Micheal Carter, Wilson Jr, Jackson, and Antonio Brown.

On to the ship!
