How is catchers interference handled for batting purposes? I know it’s an error on the catcher but it can’t count as an at bat right? Is it like hbp......or just a nothing?

The batter is not charged with a time at bat, but I don’t think he gets credit for anything for OBP purposes.

The batter is not charged with a time at bat — Rule 9.02(a)(1)(D)

The instance of reaching base is ignored when calculating on-base percentage — Rule 9.21(f) Comment

The batter is credited with a plate appearance for the purpose of qualifying for minimum standards for individual batting championships — Rule 9.22(a)

References are from the 2019 rule book.

Brock Holt with 3 hits tonight for the Nats.

Taylor smokes that ball. Let’s get this run across.

"This is a very simple game. You throw the ball, you catch the ball, you hit the ball. Sometimes you win, sometimes you lose, sometimes it rains." Think about that for a while.
