Well, to be fair, in 2017 and 2019 he was worth 3.7 fWAR over 741 plate appearances going 183-for-645 (.284 BA) with 38 doubles, 3 triples, and 16 homeruns. So I think we oughta keep him for the upcoming odd year season!

This. The way they built this team for this year was a strategic decision once it became clear that baseball was back to handing out stupid contracts like they were pez.

Combined over 20 million which is more than Moustakas but I didn't want to bring him or Grandal back at their contracts either. I liked the Narvaez acquisition but it just hasn't worked out so far. I was 100% against signing any of Smoak, Sogard, and Garcia.

I wish the Brewers would try small ball again. I know statistics say otherwise, but the modern swing-for-the fences approach isn’t going to cut it for this team. Need to do something different.
