Hiura has such elite bat speed.

Who drafted him?

Does that excuse the fact that the majority of this lineup is terrible.

:laughing Come on. You can do it. Who drafted him?

"This is a very simple game. You throw the ball, you catch the ball, you hit the ball. Sometimes you win, sometimes you lose, sometimes it rains." Think about that for a while.

Seriously, this lineup sucks because we didn't want to overpay for 3-4 year contracts for players that also suck. I don't see anyone begging for Moustakas to be back right now.

No this lineup sucks because our minor league system has barely produced any bats and Stearns decided to spend money on Smoak, Sogard, and Garcia.

Eric Sogard has been “worth” -1.2 fWAR over just 211 plate appearances in his stints with the Brewers during the 2018 and 2020 seasons.

Over those two seasons with the Brewers he is just 28-for-183 (.153 BA) with just 5 doubles, 0 triples, and 1 home run.

I appreciate you confirming that he stinks. :laughing

Well, to be fair, in 2017 and 2019 he was worth 3.7 fWAR over 741 plate appearances going 183-for-645 (.284 BA) with 38 doubles, 3 triples, and 16 homeruns. So I think we oughta keep him for the upcoming odd year season! ;)

I'm sorry, but if I was in the bullpen with Suter with him constantly banging whatever that is, I'd swipe that hammer from his hands and throw it into the second level bleachers.

Do you also yell at people when they are on your lawn.

but it's not like every guy suddenly forgot every piece of advice he gave

How much did Smoak+Sogard+Garcia cost relative to the Moustakas contract?

This. The way they built this team for this year was a strategic decision once it became clear that baseball was back to handing out stupid contracts like they were pez.

Combined over 20 million which is more than Moustakas but I didn't want to bring him or Grandal back at their contracts either. I liked the Narvaez acquisition but it just hasn't worked out so far. I was 100% against signing any of Smoak, Sogard, and Garcia.

Are those two things supposed to be comparable? I'd like to see you sit out there listening to that loud, annoying racket for three hours every game.

Sounds like the kind of guy who should start consistently

Wow a team moving runners over. I didn't know that was allowed.

I doubt that was intentional. Very few teams play anything close to small ball these days.

I wish the Brewers would try small ball again. I know statistics say otherwise, but the modern swing-for-the fences approach isn’t going to cut it for this team. Need to do something different.
