And then depression set in...

It’s a good thing Hader is only allowed to be used when he can acquire a save stat like its fricking 2000.

I swear Counsell unearthed an old copy of Ron Roenicke's Baseball Manual in the manager's office. The smorgasbord of Out-Getters has been replaced by Middle Relief Guy, 8th Inning Set Up Guy, 9th Inning Closer. Everything is by the book.

3 game losing streak going.....short season.....4 days rest for your 2 best pitchers.....1 on 2 out with a left handed hitter up with some pop in bottom of the 8th.....Williams and Hader both dominate lefties.....and we lose without either of them getting in to the game......

Just brutal decision making in this one......

If there was ever a game this year to have Hader pitch two innings, today was it. After four losses in a row and the Reds top three starting pitchers coming up, it’s a tough path to see how the Brewers get to the spot of being motivated to add any significant talent before next Monday’s trade deadline.
Not just “at Night” anymore.

Might as well trade Hader. The team is garbage and they don’t use him when they need him. No need to keep him at this point.

Yep ... auction time. Who's got the best corner IF prospect to deal?

Philadelphia has a front office feeling the heat and Alec Bohm. I don't know enough about him to say if he is good enough to highlight a package for Hader but he was a high draft pick. I saw him the other night and he looks like a good hitter but he needs to put on some weight.

Lux is still the number one target for me but I doubt they will trade him. San Diego is another team to target with a great farm system.

Absolutely agree. If we had a 2, 3 run margin heading into the 8th, I can see going to Phelps. But not with a 1 run lead, not when we're desperate for a win. Counsell got greedy, he wanted to save Hader for the 9th, he rolled the dice and it cost him dearly.

I get that Phelps has been pretty good for us, but the treatment he's gotten is that of an elite setup man, and it's just puzzling. Phelps is whatever. He's just a guy. You'd think we have Zach Britton setting up Aroldis Chapman the way Phelps is used.

I agree with those who say we should strongly consider dealing Hader. This team is going nowhere, and Hader is useless for the manner that we use him -- which is reflected in our 11-15 record.
