With Yelich on first, Hiura hit a weak looping pop up to the second baseman. Because Hiura didn’t run, the fielder let the ball drop and threw to second to start a DP.

 

Hiura would be on the bench now on my team.

Gamel has been absolute trash, so why not send him to Appleton and promote Tyrone Taylor for another RHB? If they want a crappy LHB for RF they still have holt

 

I'm thinking it's because Gamel is CF behind Garcia atm. You're essentially asking for rookies otherwise to play CF during a playoff stretch. What live games are Mathias or Taylor playing right now? Maybe help is on the way in the form of a trade? (Do rosters get smaller soon? Maybe a scrapheap during that stretch?)

That’s a good point, Keon probably the only option to replace Gamel as the roster sits right now.

Should we really be surprised. Besides Yelich and Hiura we don't have much and with them both struggling we are a bad offense. Remember that we were basically an average offense with Yelich playing like and MVP and Moustakas and Grandal in the lineup.

You'd probably have to go back to the 70s when they were a fledgling franchise. The Brewers have been a historically offensive team with below average pitching. Even the offenses of the early 2000s were better than this.

Looking at that team stats page the OPS jumps out. We’re over 800 AB into the year as a team now with an OPS under .650
