"Dustin Pedroia doesn't have the strength or bat speed to hit major-league pitching consistently, and he has no power......He probably has a future as a backup infielder if he can stop rolling over to third base and shortstop." Keith Law, 2006

Imagine if our team was any good. We would’ve swept!
"This is a very simple game. You throw the ball, you catch the ball, you hit the ball. Sometimes you win, sometimes you lose, sometimes it rains." Think about that for a while.

Very sweet to throw some cold water on the Cubs joy ride.

Still can’t believe Hader’s brain fart that almost let Baez reach.

Maybe having Arcia watch Urias hit the ball where it’s pitched will help Arcia do the same thing.

Note: If I raise something as a POSSIBILITY that does not mean that I EXPECT it to happen.

Just a reminder that Arcia was hitting in spring training and was hitting out of the gates this season. Do I think Urias will push him? Yeah, I thought that after the trade. But there is notable difference to his approach and swing. Hopefully he’s matured and will continue doing it. Anything to see less Sogard is a win in my book.

I don’t remember spring training, but Arcia “hitting out of the gates” this season consisted of getting the Brewers only 3 hits in the opener and then not much else. Take out that first game and going into today he was hitting .205/.262/..256/.518. Maybe he didn’t look so bad because so many others in the lineup were as bad or worse.

He’s had good stretches before (like the 2018 NLCS) where it looked like he was maturing, but they proved to be false alarms. Maybe this year will be the real thing.

Note: If I raise something as a POSSIBILITY that does not mean that I EXPECT it to happen.
