Brewers Reinstate Luis Urías, DFA Logan Morrison

Urías reinstated; Crew designates Morrison

The Brewers reinstated infielder Luis Urías from the injured list and designated first baseman Logan Morrison for assignment on Monday.

Urías, who didn’t get to play games in Spring Training because he was healing from left hand surgery, missed all of Summer Camp due to an asymptomatic case of COVID-19. He returned to the Brewers’ alternate training site in Appleton, Wis., on July 24.

Morrison, who was signed in January, played in nine games, batting .120/.214/.280 with one homer and two RBIs.

Not just “at Night” anymore.

Excited to see Urias!

LoMo being let go was also the expected move if another position player had to go. With the bigger rosters, DH spot, and Braun struggling to stay healthy it was well worth a shot to see if he could replicate his better season(s), but so far he could not. Smoak/Braun (and Gyorko as backup I guess) can play 1B, DH should rotate between Braun (most of the time), Hiura and Narvaez. Not really any room for LoMo.
