Lots on players minds - Has to be challenging to focus on the task at hand. CC will probably go with some old reliables on his card. Perhaps...

1 Sogard 3b

2 Hiura 2b

3 Yelich LF

4. Smoak 1b

5. Gyorko DH

6. Garcia RF

7. Pina c

8. Arcia Ss

9. Gamel CF

I thought about leading off with Arcia but not yet. Maybe if he continues then give him a shot with lefties on the hill.

Thanks for reading my distractions from reality that sports provide.

Congrats to anyone that had Avisail Garcia penciled into center field or Ryon Healy batting lead-off tonight.

I didn't realize this but Garcia played 12 (started 10) games in CF last year for the Inidans

Yeah, that lineup is....wild. We'll probably win 8-2 because the Sox batting order just looks stacked.

Not that it matters a bit, really, though it feels to me like MLB is just going to bury its head and play through no matter what. So, basically, every outcome save for a Brewers World Series is illegitimate ;)

I think you meant Rays, but yeah he logged nearly 100 innings in center last year. That was the first time he had been in CF since some limited action there in both 2012 and 2013.

Not just “at Night” anymore.

The Sox lineup seemingly gives Steve Stone a hard-on each time he announces it. The lineup is without their spark plug -Tim Anderson. Brewers out-getters have their hands full.

The pitching matchups are really interesting to me for this series. Tonight is the game you'd expect to be high-scoring. Tomorrow (Giolito vs. Woodruff) looks like a nice pitcher's duel, at least if last outing's Giolito (and Woodruff, for that matter) show up. Then it's Kuechel vs. Houser before a Brew Crew TBD on Thursday.

Who knows if we even get that far, but I don't see a clear edge in any of those matchups, save for Kuechel on Wednesday.

Today's lineup surprises would make a lot of sense if tomorrow we swing a deal for a leadoff hitting rightfielder. Otherwise you'd think Gamel leading off and starting in center would have been a bit less questionable than what CC's doing here. Interesting regardless.
