COVID-19 Thread [V2.0]

I've got my first shot taken care of as well (last week). Second one later in April.

Arm was sore for a day or so. Mild enough that I didn't need to take anything for it. A little extra fatigue as well - but nothing major.

I'd plan on avoiding weight lifting and push ups and stuff like that for a couple of days - but nothing big.

Just happy to get on the vaccine bus.

My arm feels like someone punched it hard. I was also alternating between overheating and getting the chills all night long.

I went to the Fox Cities Exhibition Center in Appleton. Very well run. No lines and no waiting. No fuss getting registered either. They just kept you for 15 minutes to be sure you didn't react to the shot.

Questions are a burden.   And answers a prison for one's self.

Johnson & Johnson for me. No major issues. Chills briefly the first night, woke up just feeling like I had had 2 drinks too many the next morning. Headache, very low-grade fever, and tired. Sore arm, but no worse than a typical shot. By day 2, completely fine.

Feels kind of nice to be one-and-done.

I had a tetanus booster not so long ago and my arm was pretty sore. I imagine it's similar to that. I get my first shot on Friday.

I hear there was a positive test within the Brewers organization and they are doing some contact tracing. Could put opening day in doubt :(

Got a link?

Forgive me if I don't really believe that story without a link of some kind to verify...

Brewersballboy did nail the Jordan Zimmermann situation last week, days before anyone else had it.

I don't know why anyone would make up something like this.

As with anything posted on the internet forums like this, 'insider information' should be taken for what it's worth while acknowledging the anonymity and unverifiable nature of what is posted. That's not a commentary on anything specific in this case, just good words to live by in considering this stuff.

- I totally agree with you, and I hate the words 'source(s)' as much as the next guy. However, I don't have any desire to make stuff up to turn into some kind of cool internet insider guy. Mostly just hoping it's an isolated case that doesn't ruin my day of smoking meats, having a couple cocktails, and listening to uke on the radio. I do have a very good source we can leave it at that, hopefully it turns out to be nothing.

Given expanded eligibility, I would be very OK for teams to start organizing employer wide vaccine events. It is very consistent with how other industries are acting if you are including all the stadium workers along with the players.

Sounds like Arcia...if that rings true hopefully it will shed light on credibility. They will obviously have to do multiple tests to verify. Testing again to see if it's true or not...could cause issues to the availability of the catchers on the team as well. Ugh, hopefully a false positive.

so we are cool with believing a guy with 3 posts... He may very well be right, but if anyone on this board is willing to believe something from a guy with "sources" and is willing to completely forget HighHeat, then so be it.

I need a little proof from a guy with no history on this board.

Trust me, I very much don't want to believe it. I am just having a tough time reconciling why someone would make up news like this, even if their only intent is to troll.

It also isn't lost on me that we are just over 22 hours from first pitch, and the Brewers have yet to release their 26-man Opening Day roster. Maybe that's normal, though. It just seems like that is usually firmed up by now.

The Nationals have a player that has tested positive on the eve of tomorrow's opener (Twitter link):

The Nationals have a positive COVID-19 test. Mike Rizzo said on zoom, they will "certainly" have to make some roster moves. 5 people have been deemed close contact. They open against the Mets tomorrow night.

The positive COVID test is a player. Those 5 other people in close contact will be put into the league's quarantine protocol.

Not just “at Night” anymore.

Check the calendar...might be 1 day early but since Opening Day is indeed on April Fools...

April Fools pranks should be fun and lighthearted. This would be ... the opposite of that.

Per Will Sammon:

Brewers had a false positive COVID-19 test result earlier today, per David Stearns. They went through entire protocol because, at the time, they didn't know it was a false positive. Player was retested and it came back negative. Expect to have full roster available to play.

And Adam McCalvy:

The Brewers had a false positive COVID-19 test result come back earlier today, David Stearns said. At the time they didn't know it was a false positive, so the club went through all of the relevant protocols and, "We are now confident it was a false positive," he said.

Thanks for the heads up. Glad it turned out to be the false positive. That would have put a big damper on opening day.

I'm getting the JJ one today. Good to know I have hangover to look forward to. Might as well drink the night away tonight. :laughing
