I may be missing something here but Pittsburgh and Cleveland play at noon in a game with playoff implications and the Steelers are resting many key players. If I was Indy or Miami or some other team hoping for a Cleveland loss I would be pissed.

It's a bit odd to me that Pittsburgh is doing this as they are still in the running for the #2 seed. Not as important as in previous years, but the 2 seed is guaranteed HFA for the first 2 rounds. I would think they'll be kicking themselves if Buffalo loses to Miami tomorrow, and they definitely could. I guess HFA isn't really as important as in most years must be their mindset.

But they also haven't been playing very good football lately and you'd think they'd want to get back into a rhythm.

I think they'd be kicking themselves even more if Ben would get hurt tomorrow and they have to rely on Mason Rudolph in the playoffs.

By this same logic wouldn't we be kicking ourselves if Aaron Rodgers gets hurt tomorrow?

We have a shot at the 1 seed. Pittsburgh does not.

They are basically taking their bye week this week.

But they do have a shot at the 2. Which would guarantee their first 2 playoff games in Pittsburgh.

I agree on 16-week fantasy, especially in dynasty leagues where you can't just cut the half your roster that isn't playing. The one interesting exception I might make was one dynasty league I was in where the two worst teams faced off in week 17 with the winner getting the top pick in the following year's draft.

I would have thought had we clinched the bye last week we would have still played most of our key starters this week save chronically injured guys like King. But I can't think of any recent examples to know what the Packers would do for sure. Week 17 of 2011 we were locked in and Detroit was way out of it. I do remember the Bears giving us a tough game in 2010 when their seed was locked and the Vikings crushing us in Favre's first season as a starter when they had nothing to play for.

They also never had a real bye week due to other team's COVID issues. Maybe they just want to give their starters an actual rest before the playoffs.

I'm guessing they think home field is not worth all that much without fans.

The difference between making a team come to GN vs Pitt likely having to play in Buffalo+ the bye is a pretty significant difference.

Earning the top seed should make the Packers the favorites in the NFC. I don't know how much the 2nd and 3rd seed changes the Steeler's outlook. That and a potential 1st round matchup either way with the Ravens, an always physical matchup, would seem to be all the more reason to give them added reason to try to be as healthy and fresh as possible.

Pitt and Baltimore is always a brutal slugfest.

Looking at the big picture more I think you guys are probably right. The difference this year between the 2 and 3 seeds is marginal especially without the 2 seed bye now.

Plus they would still need Buffalo to lose to Miami.

Dallas getting some really terrible calls going against them in this one.
"This is a very simple game. You throw the ball, you catch the ball, you hit the ball. Sometimes you win, sometimes you lose, sometimes it rains." Think about that for a while.

Not a bad call. Gallman clearly did get it back and touched down (somehow). Hard to say what happened prior to then, but that's the first clear possession.

That one seemed to be fine but the Pettis one was an absolute joke.
