What a weird final play by the nines. Obviously a bunch of laterals that get a td is a super super long shot, but its got a better chance than what Aiyuk tried to do, which was basically run around a lot get trapped on the sideline and then finally lateral it to another player trapped on the sideline.

*disclaimer, I did have Washingtons defense and was hoping for a fumble recovery on a failed lateral.

I'll admit I liked seeing Washington KO the Niners and that smug Shanahan.

On another note I have always kind of liked Rivera. He has been through a lot and has kind of a Andy Reid vibe.

Agreed on both counts.

Rivera is a likable guy and Shanahan is too old for flat-brimmed hats.

I don't know how anyone can watch a Ravens game and not fall asleep. Jackson has twice as many runs as pass attempts. I would not want to be a receiver playing in Baltimore. Too bad they are on the Packers schedule next year.

There were 89 combined points! That was the most entertaining game I’ve seen all year, and the biggest plays down the stretch were all throws from Jackson.

LOL this is a pretty nice cold take. That game was phenomenal.

I’m not sure I understand why some media personalities are advocating for the Lions to trade Matthew Stafford. Wouldn’t it be easier for the Lions to get their house in order with Matthew Stafford than it would be to get their house in order AND draft a Pro Bowl quarterback? Neither is easy, but I think life in the NFL is generally better with a decent quarterback. They should have stuck with Jim Caldwell.

The Lions have been trying to get their house in order since long before Stafford showed up, which is why he probably wants out of there anyway. I would say the latter is easier, but that organization is so inept it probably wouldn't be by a whole lot.

Regarding Stafford and the Lions:

What’s a fair return on an above average QB? Keep in mind, the Lions would have to eat the remaining portion of his amortized signing bonus, which will accelerate to the current year’s cap. Whoever trades for Stafford will get him on a ‘value’ contract. Say they get two #1s in return. Of those two picks, one is likely to be a bust (that’s not a knock on the Lions, it’s just the nature of the draft). I just don’t see it making a ton of sense, but hey, it’s the Lions.

By the time they fix their entire team Stafford will be ancient and/or gone. Imagine trading for two first rounders and then using them to get a major QB in this draft (or maybe the next one).

It makes sense if they have a full on rebuild plan.

But what are the odds they get a player better than Matthew Stafford with one of those two picks? Probably less than 50%, right?

I don't know, it's not that tough in the NFL to turn things around when you have the QB in place. The Lions aren't Jets bad, I think they had a couple of losses that should have been wins early. Remember how garbage the Packers were in 2018, we just left a bad coaching staff in place for too long. That franchise just seems unlucky but if I was a fan I would probably be fine with moving on from Stafford just for the change.

No question that KC is catching the Saints at the right time with Brees coming back from a pretty painful injury and not getting much going at all, but Mahomes (and Reid's play calling) is looking pretty special against a very stout defense. The MVP race may be all but decided today, as might the #1 seed in the NFC. As others have noted, hard to be too disappointed in the former going to Mahomes if it means the latter ends up in our favor.

Defensive and special teams warts and all, with recent play of all likely playoff teams it's hard not to view GB as the best team in the NFC headed into January at this point.

Basically every team in the NFC playoff mix might wind up in the super bowl, but a 1st round bye and a healthy #12 gives the packers the best chances by far, regardless of what happens next week against the Titans.

When did Phil Simms morph into Jiminy Glick?

What in the world are the Jets doing right now?

Helping out the Packers immensely. The Jets will still blow this lead though.

I mean if what the Rams do matters to us then things went horribly awry for us our last two games.

If we beat the Titans but lose to the Bears it matters. Saints just took the lead so maybe we need to just focus on winning out anyway.

Jets are working real hard to blow the lead. Funny enough, as of right now Goff and darnold both have 20 completions and 199 yards.

I feel like every week there is some team that the Packers need to be afraid of that then goes on to lose or play like junk against a bad team the following week.
