Minor Leaguers getting paid during the hiatus?

here are some team-by-team updates with regards to the $400/week for players under minor league contracts.

 

oakland a's paying minor leaguers through end of this month only.

the a's owner has reversed course, paying minor leaguers retroactively for june, and has committed to paying them until the end of the season.

readers should note the difference between paying players through end of august vs. end of season is an extra week's stipend of $400. the brewers have not committed to that first week of september.

 

no player (major league or minor league) receives pay after the end of the regular season. under normal circumstances, they are not paid during the postseason, offseason and during spring training.

today was the final day for players to draw a paycheck. nobody gets paid salary during the postseason.

 

should a player currently on a minor league contract be added to the playoff roster (such as keon broxton), he, along with his teammates, would be eligible for a share in the postseason pool after each round.

 

that pool is currently at $50 million, with the possibility of an increase if fans are allowed to attend.
