Bucks Game With Kids - Also St Patty's Weekend

RobDeer 45
Hey, I wanted to reach out to all the experts here and see if you had any suggestions for going to a Bucks game with the family. I haven't been to one in a long time, so obviously a lot has changed. It's the Golden State game coming up in a few weeks, Saturday night. The one worry I potentially have is it's St Patty's weekend, so I'm guessing there might be a celebration, and a lot of drunk people roaming around. We live in Minneapolis so we are used to being in a city, but wanted to see if that weekend should be avoided (like going down to St Paul on St Patty's Day, would not be a great move with kids probably). Thanks in advance!

Are you doing things other than going to the game? If all you're doing is the game you should be fine. If you are going to wander around during the day you might run into some stumblebums.

Thanks for the input! Wouldn't be much wondering, at most, grab a quick bite to eat right next to the stadium. Which I guess would be my next question, any suggestions for something very close and kid friendly, sports bar type place?

If you haven't been there in a long time prepare to be shocked because the area is unrecognizable in a good way. Punch Bowl Social and the Mecca Bar are very nice and out the front door. The food inside Fiserv is also quite good and not THAT badly priced. The drinks are insane, however. My pick would be Mecca.

I was downtown with my kids for St Paddy's last year, can't remember why but I was there for the actual crawl. The worst that will happen is some drunk soliciting high-fives from your kids.

Avoid Good City Brewing. It was one of the worst meals I have ever had.

PBS and Mecca are nice, if you love being ripped off. Both those places are full of obnoxious drunks, the food sucks, the drinks ridiculously overpriced and the service is terrible.

So so so many better places to go around downtown.

Kid Friendly, food type places: Who's on Third and Buck Bradley's both have good food and tables and are sports barish.
