I was going to move this to the Pederson discussion in the Stripling thread, but thought just creating a new thread was probably more appropriate.

 

A Joc/Avi platoon gives you a lot of oomph if you can fit it onto the roster...

And since it seems like Braun would need to be moved into a First Base role even further, here's what we'd have there:

The platoon starter/bench situation gets pretty interesting with the three batter minimum rule as well:

 

vs RH Starter - If you've got Joc starting and Avi on the bench, as soon as they bring in a lefty to face Joc you can bring in Avi/Braun (or even one after the other) to face the lefty without them double switching on you

vs LH Starter - With Joc on the bench you can wait for a righty reliever to come into the game and PH hit him in the next three batters without worrying about them switching it to a lefty on him

 

It'll be interesting to see how managers maneuver around facing these types of platoon situations this year

With our RHP clubbers being Yelich Hiura and Smoak, I think 1 more guy like Joc fits in pretty well.
