Transaction Tree Idea

Prince James
I was just wondering if there is a good way to see the impact of transactions for an organization over multiple years. For example, player X was acquired by trading another player. Player X was then traded 3 years later for player Y and Prospect A. Prospect A was signed as a FA and the resulting compensation draft pick was used to pick up Player Z. There must be some pretty neat timelines over the history of baseball. Anyone have any bright ideas on how to look at this.

I guess you can start by taking a look at the one on this site for current Brewers. It's pretty interesting.

When what I'm looking for isn't so handy, I've gone through the transaction section of the player pages on Baseball-Reference.com, done searches, and worked backwards.

That’s the only thing Chicago’s good for: to tell people where Wisconsin is.
