I learned two new things tonight:

1. You can now legally clothesline quarterbacks in the NFL

2. After the referees review a play on the field and make their call, they can now receive “additional footage” to do another review of the same play to change a call.

The only argument for being short of a first down is Graham's head was down on the ground.

His elbow touched about the same time as his head. It looks like it was definitely possible he was short...but none of the angles were going to be close to definitive.

EDIT: Upon another look, yah, I think he was likely short. I agree with the call standing, but piecing the angles together I think he was short by more than a few inches. It just was not definitive.

#2 is crazy...I can’t believe they can go back at that point.

Awesome to win this game and a great season has been had. Anything more is icing on the cake.
"This is a very simple game. You throw the ball, you catch the ball, you hit the ball. Sometimes you win, sometimes you lose, sometimes it rains." Think about that for a while.

Well, this awful 13 - 3 team is going to the NFC championship game. However you slice it going forward, this season is a success.

It already was when they clinched the division. This is all gravy now.

I do feel that way, my expectations for next week are low. With that said, that's easy for me to say now and I'm sure I will still be extremely disappointed if they lose next week no matter how much I think the season has already been a success.

Going one and done would have sucked. Whatever is fine now.

I mean if we get blown out next week I will have a fairly easy time accepting that the 49ers were just superior.

If we play a great game and lose 24-21 on a last second FG it is still going to cut deep for me no matter what my expectations are.

Oh yeah for sure. They're on the doorstep of the super bowl. And even more so, the two teams on the other side of that coin are both somewhat beatable. If it was the Ravens, I'd feel different about it. The Patriots and Ravens have been knocked out, so we're in a situation where you're not just going to the SuperBowl to face a juggernaut. So I'm absolutely all in right now. If we lose, I'm going to be inconsolable for about 24 hours. Still though, at the end of the day, this season has been (hopefully) a return to prominence for the Packers, and in the bigger picture, IF they get beat next Sunday, that's what I'll (eventually) take away from it.

No more trading down 3 picks to get 5 7th rounders, and expecting a bunch of undrafted street FA's to fill out 1/5th of the roster, and absolutely refusing to touch foot into free agent waters, except in the absolute most dire and necessary of circumstances. It's a new age of Packer Footbaw!!!!

I felt like the 2010 team was ahead of schedule and they’d have many more bites at the apple, but look how that turned out. Opportunity doesn’t wait for you to be ready, or for you to be a “complete team.” This may be the only championship game of the LaFleur era for all we know. I’m happy about this year, absolutely, but I’m going to be really bummed out with a loss next week. Time to go get it.

San fran will have a full weeks press talking about how great they are and gb will hear all week about getting pantsed in that regular season matchup. The game will be closer.

As long as GB comes out with a different gameplan that forces the 49ers to either sub 1-2 of their linebackers off the field alot or stick with them to cover wideouts, I'll be happy they at least tried something that could work rather than sticking with the same gameplan that they got snuffed out with in late november.

Rodgers may have played his finest game of the season tonight. Took what the defense gave him, and made some incredible throws. Didn't try to wing it 40 yards every 3rd down.

Seattle defense played pretty tough tonight. I give them credit. Rodgers and the Packers were just a little bit better.

I like Rodgers as an underdog.
"Dustin Pedroia doesn't have the strength or bat speed to hit major-league pitching consistently, and he has no power......He probably has a future as a backup infielder if he can stop rolling over to third base and shortstop." Keith Law, 2006
