Wild card weekend game discussion

Mike McCarthy’s playoff record with Aaron Rodgers is 9-7. Sean Peyton’s playoff record with Drew Brees is 8-7. Virtually identical playoff records, each with a future HOF QB and a Super Bowl win, yet most NFL fans hold Sean Peyton in higher regard. Why is that?

Drew Brees isn’t a whiney little brat like our QB can be.

"This is a very simple game. You throw the ball, you catch the ball, you hit the ball. Sometimes you win, sometimes you lose, sometimes it rains." Think about that for a while.

I would guess because Payton has a bigger personality. I would also bet that not many people know about his record as all the debate shows talk more about the Packers and Rodgers.

I really want a Packers/Vikings NFC championship game, but it will be hard to stomach all the people perpetuating the false myth, "It's tough to beat a team 3 times in a season."

It's a false myth when you already own two wins against them. It holds true if it is said before the season begins.

BTW, wouldn't "false myth" mean it's true?

It doesn't really hold true at all. The only time you could possibly say it is when you already own two wins against a team, otherwise the situation wouldn't come up. You could more truly say "it's rare to play a team 3 times in a season."

Seattle has enough talent with Wilson and Metcalf that i would much rather face philly.

Despite injuries, the eagles' oline and dline are both formidable groups - I'd rather not face them compared to the seahawks just because those lines could wreck a game.

We avoided arguably the most dangerous opponent in the NFC next week. Both Seattle and Philly have legit arguments of why we wouldn't want to play them -- Seattle has the better record and Russell Wilson, but are really beat up.

The Eagles are pretty beat up too, but they have some scary tight end matchups for us and a pretty decent stable of running backs and lines, and already won at Lambeau.

While either will be tough, either is a beatable opponent. If we aren't playing in the NFC Championship Game at this point, it's on us.

Metcalf sure would have looked good in Green and Gold.

Can't believe he lasted until the end of round 2. It's almost like people thought he looked TOO good at the combine and didn't believe their eyes.

One more Seahawks score in this thing is over.

Seattle has more potential game Wreckers on both sides of the ball.

And one of those wreckers did so by cheap shotting a quarterback out of the game. I wonder if that's Clowney's game plan to win a Super Bowl.

Initial weather forecast for next Sunday night looks like it will be in the upper 20s low 30s.

I don't think weather is going to be an issue.

Is that the projected high for Sunday or game time temperature? The game does start at 5:40 local time after all.

I hate this dark green filter NBC uses between line of scrimmage and first down.
