This conservative play calling is gonna cost Minnesota.
"Dustin Pedroia doesn't have the strength or bat speed to hit major-league pitching consistently, and he has no power......He probably has a future as a backup infielder if he can stop rolling over to third base and shortstop." Keith Law, 2006

That was the most Mike McCarthy drive ever. The Siants are going to have plenty of time regardless. Why would you not try to make a drive out of it and at worst hopefully get the ball back for a response if the Saints score? Now they are at the mercy of whatever the Saints do or don’t do with little chance to respond.

wow, that's really bad.

That’s one of the most terrible ‘kill some clock’ drives I’ve ever seen....

How you lose 12 yards on three plays is beyond me.

Did you watch the Bill lose 40 yards on three plays yesterday, when they were in winning FG range?

There should be 8 seconds left but I do not understand at ALL why they didn't use their TO. That is awful, regardless of what Troy is babbling about. That TO had to be used there.

I thought spike it, then you can throw over the middle and call your last timeout. He made the kick, so overtime coming anyways.

I continue to be in awe of how many NFL coaches absolutely do not know how to manage the clock at the end of the game/half.

I think they robbed themselves of a shot for the end zone or two, though.

I think their thought was to have the middle of the field open for a shorter FG try. But it was dumb. :21 was enough to run a play for a possible TD, and if you don't score, spike it and kick.

It worked out OK but :21 was definitely enough time to run a play, fail, and still get a FG.

There was a probably a matchup they were hoping to see at the line of scrimmage and go for the TD if they got it.

If they used the To. None left 21 secs on clock. I guess a tackle play in bounds potential time run out? But why not run the ball with the TO to gain a few yrds on FG attempt?

Worked out for them in the end.

I'm pretty sure on that Fumble return. Bridgewater was running on the field near the 10yd line when Saints player crossed endzone.

Wth was he thinking?
