Not the most glitzy name out there, but with enough late-game experience that he wouldn't be the worst guy to target either. In other words, very much a potential Stearns FA signing.

Yeah, I could definitely see him in the mix of names for the Brewers. He had a good year last year too. Wonder what he will be asking?

Kintzler is ok, but he would have to take a steep pay cut from the $5M he was making. I think Stearns looks at him as being too expensive for what he could offer.

I think the Brewers probably have room for 1 guaranteed contract in the bullpen. Kintzler is probably about the type of reliever they'll end up signing to a 1-2 year deal. It doesn't have to be Kintzler, but a dependable veteran releiver would help supplement what they have right now.

 

This is how I would have the bullpen right now:

 

Locks: Hader, Suter, Claudio, Free Agent signing, and Knebel who might start on the IL

 

Out of options guys who probably make roster out of spring: T. Williams, Faria, Black, D. Guerra

 

Shuttle squad: Burnes, Peralta, D. Williams, Wahl, Yardley

 

You could probably argue where Burnes and Peralta will be on opening day, but my suspicion is the Brewers will want to hang onto the out of options guys for as long as possible before making a final decision on them. Some of the out of options guys might not last on the 40 man all winter though.
