Coaching and scheming. That's the difference. 2 guys blocking 4. Plain and simple

Well that, and the fact that Fields is about 1000 times better than Jack Coan.

Do you feel the scheme is limited by what Coan can do?

Fair enough. I don't think it's 100%. I look at the first half and that scheme seemed fully capable. :shrugs:

Do people really think that OSU, Clemson, Alabama, etc, are always among the top teams in the country because they have the best schemes?

No, it's because they are able to recruit the best and most talented bigh school players from all over the country.

This game further demonstrated the massive talent gap. Wisconsin had a great game plan and in the end they got crushed. If Fields hadn’t missed a couple open receivers early on they would have been down at halftime.

It's Ohio State. They're the best team in the country. We had to play a perfect game. For 27 minutes, they did. Orr went out, and that really hurt the defense, and the Badgers made some mental mistakes. They absolutely couldn't afford self inflicted mistakes against a team like this.

Hell, they couldn't afford them against Illinois, they sure weren't going to get away with it against tOSU.

The playcalling on that last drive stunk.

But I mean yeah, the Buckeyes obviously have much better players than us.

Some people do think that.

That's not the argument and never has been. Over the course of a season, talent will cause teams to rise to the top. The argument has always been that scheme could overcome talent gaps over 60 minutes, once in a while. It happens consistently enough at collegiate athletics and every level of athletics.

Wisconsin deserves the Rose Bowl plain and simple.

They might deserve it but $$$$$$$ will win out in the end and that means Penn State.

I disagree. I think Wisconsin probably gets the Rose Bowl bid. Might have been different had Ohio State destroyed them tonight, but that didn't happen.

Not sure PSU would be more money. They were just there in 2017, and the Badgers were last there in 2013. Badgers travel really well for the Rose Bowl

Eh. This result tonight was more or less as expected, just not the game flow itself. PSU played OSU relatively close too. If I had to guess I would say UW gets the nod after tonight, but I don't think there's enough separation between UW and PSU to call it plain and simple.
