I think the positive outlook stems from the fact that even if they were 6-4 that would be an improvement over the absolute boredom that has been the last 2 seasons. Why would anyone expect the Packers to be a top 4 team this year? It was a bad team that signed three solid FA names (which is basically a typical offseason for any team not run by Ted Thompson) under a first-year coach.

I think the NFCCG is a ridiculous standard for calling this a successful season. It's successful if they go 10-6 and lose in the WC. It would be they overachieved in the first half and came back down to earth.

I think this team is a good comp with the 2009 team, developmentally. They're not good in the same areas, but they're an ascending team just not quite there yet.

I think this is an awesome perspective to have. I agree wholeheartedly.

I do agree with you guys on this. It's just hard and disappointing to think that maybe you're more than that, maybe you're ready to take that step early, get your first big test, and fall flat and have to step back and reevaluate your expectations.

Alex Light might as well be made of a thin cardboard.

Jason Spriggs continues to hurt this team, even from injured reserve.

I think they cut him loose.

He's on IR yet ... but the point is he was drafted to be that swing tackle, and was a pretty major failure before getting hurt this year. The trickle down is Alex Light.

Clock is not really a factor at this point. They needed to score even if it took 10 minutes. They can't afford to give up any more points anyway. They need a lot more to go right than scoring their first TD fast.

I agree. There is no telling whether "going fast" would have resulted in points at all. Could be 3-n-out if they try and go quick. Just never know. One can not deduce the future with different variables.

Kevin King is just a gross liability. Just gut this team of any Ted Thompson holdovers at this point.

For how great he drafting his first 5-6 years, he really was not good at all the last 6.

I should exempt Kenny Clark from my statement, though he has not had a great year either.
