Just under 3:00 left in the first half and somehow only down 13 points. Seems like it should be more. Has a bit of a similar feeling to the Monday night game vs. Detroit. Get any sort of offense going, and it’s a game that can be taken.

A 13-0 game against a defense like this is a little different than being down 13-0 to say, Detroit. I'm not sure we get in the endzone this game once much less score 14.

True. 13-0 provided a sliver of hope of being able to stop SF’s offense and somehow manage two scores. 20-0 is probably the six-foot deep hole in the graveyard.

If it wasn't painfully obvious to you for the past month that the Niners are a decidedly better team than us, it should be now. Same goes for the Saints. This team ain't even making it to the NFCCG.

They haven't made it to the playoffs for three years so that (still possible) outcome would be pretty impressive.

I think a first round game with Minnesota is very likely, just a matter of where the game is.

We aren't an NFC title contender, folks. This game was the big reveal and this is what I feared. I was ok with a loss tonight as long as it was a competitive game and we looked like we belonged on the same field as the 49ers.

We don't.

I'll put us, at best, 4th in the NFC. I'll take any of the 49ers, Saints, or Seahawks against us in a playoff game, easily.

I still think we'll win the division. Got a pretty soft schedule the rest of the way. A wild card round win but that isn't even a gimme.

I think we're a divisional round team, kinda what I thought most of the year. I liked us in this one because I also didn't think SF was much better, but wow, did we lay an egg. I think Minnesota is the best in the division, by way of vastly better weapons on offense, and still like the Saints.

The offense needs a WR, the talent is just not there for a midseason evolution.

And I'll eat my words on this one: They should have kept Randall Cobb for $5 million.

Thanks to JK "30 yard punt" Scott, we'll likely give up 3 more here before half. Wait til he's got to kick a rock in Green Bay next month.

6 punts with 37 yard average with 0 pooch kicks.

He has not been good for a while but never this bad.

I’ll take the 49ers by 3 ... advantage home team.

It will probably be a close game, but few outcomes would surprise me. The Packers could come out and dominate and we’d all agree ‘this was a healthy, well-rested team that’s peaking at the right time.’ They could also come out flat and we’d say ‘this is what happens when they play a well-balanced team with a decent quarterback; they’ve been pretenders all along.’

Here’s what I said before the game. I guess we have our answer.

I don't think the Niners are this much better. The Packers are playing like garbage.

Minnesota has more weapons, but are too inconsistent to do much of anything I think.

Don't congratulate me, Joey. You think I'm happy about it? This sucks ass. I thought there was a chance we were a Super Bowl contender. I was really excited about where this season was going tonight and this more or less extinguishes it.

But the 49ers are a better football team, and it's not particularly close. All I have to go by is what I'm seeing.
