Hader trade ideas

Gonzo75
Padres were the only team I could see who would be willing and able to trade for Hader. He would make a ton of sense for the Dodgers too, but they've shown over and over that they're unwilling to trade their top prospects so I don't see it as very likely.

After today's game, if Hader is traded tomorrow, the last Brewer game played by him will be 5bbs and .1 IP Blown Save. The only thing I wondered about his game yesterday was if Nottingham being a taller bigger catcher if his setup threw Hader's high strike zone just too high? Or was that just game day glitching making every pitch seem 2-4" too high?

Was Hader up there thinking this was his last Brewer game and crumbled under the pressure he put on himself?

Anyway back on trade ideas. The Yankees dont have the prospects. i would accept in any trade for Hader.

Dodgers are Lux or bust as their system doesnt have a headliner beyond him.

Padres, Sox, Twins are the deeper systems you wanna deal with.

I just don't know. Going to play the it won't happen and wait to here that it did.

Padres appear to be getting Clevinger so they might not feel as much of a need for Hader and they have less to deal now even if they did.

The Padres 2 best RPs are LH and controlled. I think it doesnt add up. Pomeranz is perfect thus far. Rushing to nab Hader now just doesn't fit what the team needs and would just waste prime resources to acquire what they do need. Aka Clevinger.

I am not sure why people keep on bringing Lux up he is not available and won't be available for Hader unless you add Woodruff to the deal. It is just uninformed ridiculousness to even bring up Lux in any kind of trade unless it is some kind of blockbuster trade like Hader and Woodruff to the Dodgers for Lux +. The Dodgers were not willing to put Lux in a trade for Lindor that says enough about how the Dodgers feel about Lux. There is no way the Brewers could get Lux for Hader there just isn't and bringing it up every time in this thread is just dumb.

I don't see the White Sox going after Hader and I don't see the Dodgers giving up much for Hader either. That leaves the Yankees and they really only have maybe one prospect that Stearns is looking for to headline that deal everything after that is just not worth it. The Padres were the team with the best prospect and the ones that match up with the Brewers needs but if they trade for Clevinger they are out of the running and that leaves the White Sox, Dodgers and the Yankees who don't really have the prospects to meet the demands of Stearns.

I don't see a trade for Hader happening unless it is with the Padres. The prospects are there in the Padres system but they will be gone if they trade for Clevinger.

I'm not sure that Minnesota should be written off. I think they could make a move, and they'd have enough to at least make a worthy offer.

Twins like their rotation of Maeda, Berrios, Odorizzi, Hill, Pineda and Dobnak so aren’t desperate for a starter. While they checked in on Hader and like him, there’s nothing serious happening there yet. General consensus is: Brewers would need to be bowled over to move JH.

Dominguez is the guy I want.

Yeah, I don't have much interest in a deal with the Yankees, but Dominguez is an interesting option. Andujar is a LOT more interesting in an NL with the DH as well than he would have been this past off season....

Only way I'm doing a deal with the Yankees is if its for Frazier, Dominguez and a third piece like Garcia. No thanks on Andujar and Dominguez has to be in any trade for Hader.

Yuck Frazier of all the players on the Yankees and you pick Frazier. Why not shoot for the moon and demand Judge instead?

Whats wrong with Frazier. His defense is awful but he can really hit. Andujar is the guy to say yuck about.

Brewers: Gallo, Dominguez, Frazier

Rangers: Devi Garcia, Andujar, Lutz

Yankees: Hader

Gallo and Frazier plug into 1B/RF for next 2 years. Dominguez ready to take over in RF after.

What are you doing with Avisail??

350-400 ABs each for Cain/Avi/Frazier. Time split between CF/RF/DH. Cain will need the load management and allows CC to keep guys fresh.

Not sure why you'd say "yuck" about either. Andujar, at 23, put up a really nice offensive season and the Yankees are having him learn multiple positions. Frazier is just a good but not great hitter.

I'd want someone like Dominguez and then at least another nice prospect, but I think Andujar, if the Yankees part with him, is going to flourish somewhere else where he can get consistent playing time. Just not sure where that playing time comes.

But given that it sounds as though the Brewers are asking for a LOT for Hader...I doubt we see him moved anyway.

I am curious though, can you include PTBNL in a trade this year? I haven't paid attention to the details...would this allow you to acquire someone who's not part of the 60 man?

Yes, the scenario is basically the same as it's always been regarding trades. The only difference is that if you trade for a player not on a team's 60-man player pool, they need to be specified as a PTBNL until the conclusion of the season, and obviously cannot be used this season.

By no means do I give away Hader, but man it just feels like now is the time. There are such significant long-term holes on offense (1B, 3B, C, CF, RF) that I just don’t see why holding onto Hader makes sense. Definitely don’t settle but I would think he has more value traded than with the Brewers as currently constructed.

If you want Andujar, way to ruin the team's future. He wasn't spectacular in the minors, and had a good not great year. Injured and terrible since. The Yankees can't wait to dump him on some team.

Dominguez hasn't even played a game after signing. 5'10" That's a project, not someone who will be on the team in next 2 seasons if at all. You may make that deal and up with Negative WAR from Andujar and a bust of a prospect for the best RP in the game. Kudos on that.

Catcher and any of the OF spots are actually covered rather well for the Brewers in the minors. Feliciano is a good catching prospect and there are a few others in the minors that have some promising futures.

As for the OF prospects they are further away as most are in the lower levels. First base and third base are the real problems but I think those can easily be solved in free agency. Justin Turner is a FA this off season and he could be a target for either 1B or 3B though he is on the older side. Profar is also a free agent this off season he could be someone to target for 3B.

If a Hader trade happens we should see two really good prospects added to the team.

I'd just shoot the moon and send Hader, Phelps and Hiura to the Yankees for Clint Frazier, Jasson Dominguez, Clarke Schmidt and Deivi Garcia.

Next year, killer outfield of Yelich, Cain, Dominguez, Fraizer. Avi moves to DH

Can move on from Braun, plug Gyorko in at 2B and the starting pitching is stacked in waves with Woodruff, Burnes, Peralta, Houser, with Schmidt and Garcia coming. Devin Williams in at closer.
