Good bye, Playstation Vue (1/30/2020)

Kind of inevitable a cord cutting option would go out. There are simply to many of them trying to compete and too much bouncing around provider to provider. My fear is the nice options to cord cut will dwindle and be left with a few options that are questionable better/cheaper.

That's what's going to happen. And it will end up the same situation as now with cable and satellite where you're paying for stuff you don't watch and have to pay extra for things you do.

All the local sports teams are available from a million websites that pop up like whack-a-moles every time one gets shut down. And honestly those illegal sites don't have any of the tech issues that the legal ones do. The Reddit stream would always have a feed that was 15 seconds faster than Sling too. I ended up using it even when I had Sling just because it was easier and more user-friendly.

That's a good point. I've gone this route a few times this fall to catch Monday night NFL games, since I no longer get ESPN, and it's worked just fine. That might be my Brewer solution for next year, rather than service hopping.

I am trying to go a full football season by only using trial subscriptions to whatever service is carrying the game I want to watch. I can get pretty close to watching all of them (since I get a lot of Packer games on local TV down here in Chicago.

I have/had Vue, and switched to Youtube Tv. It's more or less exactly the same as Vue. It's $49.99 a month plus tax. It has 70-ish channels, has local stations, has BTN, ESPN, FSN for Brewers games, and everything I need for live sports, and the channel guide is a bit more intuitive than the Vue's as well.

I almost subscribed to Vue because I watch shows from my computer during lunch and then through my playstation in the evening. Vue would have worked well for both. But they worked hard to make sure you never were able to share your subscription with anyone else they way you can with Netflix. $45/mo for just me is just too much money.
