Great to see the offense come alive in a vintage effort today. Rodgers was spectacular. Defense gave up a lot of yards, but were in a prevent mentality for a lot of the game. Raiders have a solid offense as well.

Very big game that should hopefully put a lot of questions to rest, at least for now.

500 yards mean nothing if the scoreboard still says 17...

Vintage Packers defense. Bend, bend, bend but don't break.

The question of the rest of the season becomes: can Kansas City, Minnesota, San Francisco, Chicago, Detroit, New Orleans—or, even New England—break the Gumby defense? Will that unit torpedo another playoff run, and be one more chapter in a long, tragic book?

500 yards does mean something regardless of the points. It may not mean anything today, but it isn't a good trend. How someone that follows the Packers can be comfortable with that is amazing. I'm not specifically talking about today's game, because I frankly am not that worried about it at this point. But I've seen plenty of Packers teams that give up massive yardage only to hear it's OK because they won. That is basically how the Packers lost in the playoffs most of 2009-now. They were a good team that gave up astronomical yards and points in playoff losses.

Carr is good. He is having a good year on an average team. Rodgers looked great, Packers offense is rolling. But their defense looked really bad today, it happens. They're winning in October and will be back in the playoffs - that alone is great. They have time to work on being perfect. But to say they were playing prevent just isn't accurate. They were getting absolutely lit up the entire first half.

The secondary hasn't been the same since savage has been out. Hopefully he returns soon and help right the ship.

[sarcasm]Great start for the bears today.[/sarcasm]

Yeah, the defense was really bad today. The final score looks a lot more lopsided than the game really was. If Carr hits the pylon before the ball comes out before halftime, this game is probably a shootout. I'd definitely like to see the defense start playing better ball than we've seen since Philly.

That said, the Raiders are a decent team on the upswing and recently beat the Bears, so no shame. The offense is obviously trending back to elite status in a hurry, and that alone gives us Super Bowl hopes.

After the frustration of the last two seasons, I'm going to enjoy this win and this start. No one saw 6-1 coming. This team is defying everyone's expectations. Are there some issues? Yes, there are. But this is a good team on the upswing. As a fan, I'm going to enjoy it. Was the defense concerning today? Yeah. But if that is the biggest takeaway from today's game, I don't understand how you enjoy being a fan of this team.

I don't get this, man. I just said "no shame" and "Raiders are a good team" and "gives us Super Bowl hopes" all in the same paragraph. You think I'm not enjoying the heck out of being a fan of this team right now? Why can I not do that while also acknowledging the things that need to be cleaned up? Why is it necessary for me to bury my head in the sand, lie to myself and pretend that them being "in prevent mentally" was responsible for the defensive performance today if I am not going to have it questioned how I enjoy being a fan of this team?

I do think this is a good team on the upswing. Not saying otherwise.

I didnt watch the game, i had it on the radio while doing other things. Just have to say that the amount/frequency of replay really not only slowed the game down but just disrupted the flow. Not sure if it did the same for viewing.

Im a proponent of replay, but as others have said, we now have 4k super slow mo with so many camera angles theres just too much to get wrong. Its disrupting the game more than its helping get calls right. My 2c

King has been beaten alot this season.

He isn't that good. He never has been, people have been assuming he'll be good when healthy based on draft status. He's an OK second corner at this point, when healthy, which is almost never. Alexander is the clearly superior player. They've had much worse players back there and he's probably passable if we are getting to the QB, but I think at this point we can say he's an average player.

Another TT blunder. Passed up TJ Watt to trade down for King, who was injury prone coming out of college.

I remember that draft as I was hoping the Packers would take Dalvin Cook, but took Kevin King instead. Jones is a good back, but man would it be fun having that monster paired up with Rodgers in the backfield on Sundays.

My post wasn’t directed at you. I guess it was intended to be more general in nature. I’ve seen quite a bit of consternation following the game all over the place. Hell, Bill Michaels is beating it to death on his postgame show right now. The team just had its best offensive performance in years, and all people seem to want to do is complain about the defense. It’s just a little disheartening, that’s all.

I am thrilled with the offense, particularly without their best weapon, and as I said before I think that alone makes them SB contenders if they play offensively at an elite level again.

I just want the defense to play at the level they were early in the season, because that defense, with the elite offense we're showing, is not just a contender but perhaps THE favorite. I don't know why they've been playing poorly lately. Maybe Darnell Savage is that important to our defense. I'm not sure.

The defense is better, but they still are getting torched by any +QB.

Unrelated, but I don't understand how the league doesn't see a problem with the pace of game. Not only that, but they continue to actively make it worse. There is almost no suspense any more in any borderline scoring play. We have to take 60 looks at it and get it "right" even it means destroying the game itself.

I thought it was funny during the broadcast today that they came back from a commercial break and didn’t show the referee giving the ruling on a challenged play and instead had the announcer just say the result quickly before the next play. He said that the NFL is trying to maintain a good pace of play so they cut out the referees announcing the result of a challenge. Wow, because that’s a great way of saving time! Removing the referees from explaining how and why they came to the conclusion that they did on a play. No, it’s because you’re filling your pockets on more advertisements instead of actually showing the game. Just like once in a while they will come back from break and they will be in the middle of a play instead of getting you back to the programming in time. Sometimes that happens on the opening kickoff of games as well. Rant over.

Who do we want today? Bears, or Saints?

I'd pull for the bears because the packers can take care of their own business against them by playing later. Pack doesnt play the saints, and I'm hoping they lose a few before brees is back. Plus, the saints are a team that has the really good d that could also have a great offense and be a tougher playoff opponent, IMO. Bears D is awesome, but their offense just doesnt scare anyone.

I never really got the Mack dismay over missing out on him. Yeah, he's great, yeah, he'd be a beast for us, but not only did they give up a haul, but they're paying full market - his cap hit the next few years is absolutely massive, almost 30M per season. That hit, plus the lack of high end draft capital from the trade is going to make it tough for them to build a good enough core around him to win.

Maybe if they had drafted Mahomes, things could be different, but they went all in on Trubisky and they lost. They're peaking too early, and too low. By the time they start to solve all their offensive problems they'll be nearing the end of the Mack era.

Defense is concerning. Is Raven Greene back soon? Not that he's the end all be all but I think he'd help in run game and covering TEs at least.

Offense has found it's footing. Really fun to watch all the misdirection and motion. Such a great change from what we've become used to the last few years.

Yeah, Mack's contract is tolerable had they picked the right qb inthat draft to be a stud and be on a rookie deal...but the Bears drafted trubisky and basically screwed themselves
