Game 7: Raiders @ Packers - Sunday, October 20th Noon

homer

Defense really doesn't look anything like it looked the first few weeks lately. Giving up a ton of big "chunk" plays, getting bailed out by penalties, and still not getting off the field when they get into 1st and 20 situations.

This unit needs to play better as neither the pass defense nor rush defense looks like a particular strength right now.

For all the hype this is a pretty unimpressive unit at the moment. Remember, this is a Raider team that has essentially no established wide receivers. Any high octane offense would be shredding this secondary beyond recognition. What happened to Alexander being one of the league's elite corners?

The Raiders have a couple of nice tight ends. Must be nice.
"This is a very simple game. You throw the ball, you catch the ball, you hit the ball. Sometimes you win, sometimes you lose, sometimes it rains." Think about that for a while.

I didn't like the fact that we have to play a second straight opponent coming off a bye. I pretty much expected what's happening now.

They’ll get KC off the mini bye next week too. Though, to be fair, the Packers played the Vikings and Cowboys on extra rest.

Another call that shouldn’t have been made. Dumb dumb refs.

King has been beaten alot this season.

He isn't that good. He never has been, people have been assuming he'll be good when healthy based on draft status. He's an OK second corner at this point, when healthy, which is almost never. Alexander is the clearly superior player. They've had much worse players back there and he's probably passable if we are getting to the QB, but I think at this point we can say he's an average player.

I’ll echo MLF comments from a few weeks ago: “I have no idea what pass interference is anymore!”

It is amazing the NFL is allowing challenges of PIs...which is a MASSIVE judgement call. Remember the years of “I don’t know what a catch is.” Why would they want that kind of issue again?

They have basically resurrected that problem in a different way allowing these challenges. Now it is getting scrutinized more than ever cause we nitpick them on video endlessly.

Even garbage PIs before were hardly an issue, you got one video of it and life moved on. Same with holding calls etc....hardly nit picked because there is never a big deal made of them.

Another TT blunder. Passed up TJ Watt to trade down for King, who was injury prone coming out of college.

The defense is better, but they still are getting torched by any +QB.

Unrelated, but I don't understand how the league doesn't see a problem with the pace of game. Not only that, but they continue to actively make it worse. There is almost no suspense any more in any borderline scoring play. We have to take 60 looks at it and get it "right" even it means destroying the game itself.
