IMO this is the best or 2nd best team the Packers will have played to this point. Probably give the edge to Philly, but the Lions have a good combo of size and speed offensively and a formidable if inconsistent QB. They did beat Philly and played KC tough. It's a pretty good test of the Packers defense. The Packers offense should continue to move the ball, they're not really scary on that side.

Like the Packers again, something like 27-20. Keep padding that record. Just took a peak and wow, the Lions have quite the cupcake schedule from here on out.

It's a division game and the Lions have a very strong defensive line with maybe the best run stuffer in the NFL in Harrison, another monster next to him in Robinson and then two good ends.

But I don't see how you can say they're better than anyone we've played other than Denver. I think they're an average team. They've beaten a couple good teams early and blew it vs a really bad team. Last year I think they beat the Pats early while getting blown out by the Jets...and their big addition was Trey Flowers. A nice player, but not a great one.

Maybe I'll be proven wrong. I like Galladay, I like Johnson and I've always been a fan of Stafford and thought he could be a really good QB if he had some more talent around him...but I can't see the Packers losing to this team after getting beat twice by them last year...including a 31-0 drubbing.

I just hope Adam's is ready for this game.

I'd actually prefer they hold him out another game. If you play before it heals, it becomes something you have to deal with all season and then really limits your effectiveness. At least from my understanding of it. Adams is tough and the fact that he didn't play last week is pretty telling to me.

But of course if he does, we're obviously in much better shape. Especially is Slay misses another game.

I'm more worried about Kevin King though. You know Adams is gonna come back and play though some minor injuries. It feels like we're just living on borrowed time with King. I guess it's gonna take more than 5 games before I trust him. Though he's 2nd or 3rd in PD so far this season with Jaire #1.

The QB. The Bears don't have an offense and Trubisky sucks. That sounds harsh but he doesn't impress me at all and in a couple seasons they'll wake up from that honeymoon and he'll be backing somebody up in Jacksonville. Teams like that are never a threat to the Packers when they're any good. Same goes for Minnesota, with Cousins who might put up pretty stats but his resume against winning teams speaks for itself. Stafford has had an up and down career but when he's on, he's quite good.

Losing this game would be hugely disappointing, but the Lions have been in every game they've played, a very tough loss to KC and an impressive road win @Philadelphia. Their resume to this point is vastly more impressive than either Minnesota or Chicago. Neither of which has anything close to a signature win and the Bears best win is probably a 16-6 win over the Vikings.

Five weeks in, the Packers really should win this division. I thought they might be able to do it going 10-6 because I didn't feel like anyone was that good and wasn't a believe at all in the Bears. But now they look like a team that could win 12 games. If Rodgers is still a top QB there is enough talent on this team where they should be able to separate from a mediocre pack.

I'm still not a Detroit believer. I didn't really see them do anything special to turnaround their season from last year. Stafford can be as good as Rodgers ever was but often doesn't sustain it for a whole game or multiple games. I'm not crazy about the coaching scheme either.

I'm just waiting for them to fall back to the middle or bottom. I just don't think it's sustainable for a full season.

Change my mind.

Agreed ... the Lions typically have stretches where they look competent nearly every season. It's never sustainable. I agree that they are playing better right now, but that team doesn't have near the talent level of the Vikings or Bears.

The Vikings had a random 13-3 year with a retread QB sandwiched by .500 seasons. I've been hearing about how talented they are for what feels like 5 years so I'm not really buying it anymore. The Bears are who we thought they were. They can load up defensively all they want, until they can actually move the ball they have a firm ceiling. If we want to talk about unsustainable, repeated winning seasons with no QB is unsustainable. Detroit has been badly coached for a decade. That they don't have talent is simply not accurate, there is talent all over that roster, including the most important position on the field and Golladay who looks like a monster in the making. Their winning being "unsustainable" in the past has nothing to do with 2019, the team is under entirely new leadership since a couple seasons ago.

I just don't see that team as clearly below either of the other two. My money is on them to finish second, because I think they've turned a corner and their schedule gets ridiculously soft in the second half.

I’m happy with the 4-1 record, but still skeptical. I have the same feeling going into this game as I did before playing Philadelphia (except now the Packers are the team with the injuries). Without Adams or Savage, I’ll take Detroit 27-20.

LOL ... you picked the Packers to beat the Bears and Broncos, and otherwise picked them to lose. I am starting to think that perhaps you are underestimating this team. I personally don't think the Lions are very good. If the Packers don't lay en egg, this should be a win.

Nobody said they didn't have talent, just that they didn't have as much as Minny or Chicago. Galladay is a nice WR'er. They don't have a better skill group than Minnesota. He's at least comparable to Robinson.

And we've heard how Minnesota has had talent for the last several years because they have. They've had very good teams.

Plus, when a team has only played 4 games, that's not much of a resume. Both the Bears and the Vikings have won 12/13 games in the last couple years. The Bears were about 3 inches away from advancing in the playoffs last year and the Vikings were in the NFC Championship game. So it's not like the talk about their talent has been unwarranted.

It's possible they finish 2nd in the division. I kinda doubt it, but they're playing a 4th place schedule. I think they're a average team that has a QB who's up and down...though on balance underrated throughout his career, but Stafford isn't enough to make them better than the Bears and that ridiculous defense and the Vikings and their very good defense and abundance of talent at the skill positions.

I hope I’m underestimating them. I like what I see, but am proceeding with caution. I thought last week was a good win, but then the winless Jets beat the Cowboys too.

Bad teams beat good teams pretty much every week in the NFL. And the Jets, with Darnold at the helm, aren't bad.

I'm thinking one score game tonight that could go either way. Maybe a turnover decides it. We've been on the good side of that so far this season.
"This is a very simple game. You throw the ball, you catch the ball, you hit the ball. Sometimes you win, sometimes you lose, sometimes it rains." Think about that for a while.

We really need Alexander to not have another off game today. He got roasted pretty badly by Cooper last week, I don't want the same thing happening tonight with Golladay. His instincts are incredible, but he got caught with his eyes on the backfield far too often last week. That's my biggest concern this week. I'm expecting the Lions to do little to nothing on offense unless Golladay just wrecks us...which if so would force us to adapt and probably open up other avenues of offense...but I think it all starts with Golladay. I'm thinking something like 23-13 Packers...not a lot of scoring on either side.

I didn't think Alexander played as poorly as the state line suggested vs the Cowboys. We were up 31-3, Savage went out and he was in man coverage all game long on Cooper.

That said, we have another big and physical WR'er and Savage is out tonight as well. I'd like to see King on him a bit more and Alexander on Marvin Jones Jr. This feels like the type of game where he has a big line.

The Lions are missing two really good defensive linemen for tonight's game(though Harrison is still there).

The Packers should win this game, but I just have a feeling that this is going to be one of those games Stafford really plays well and gets other guys involved. I'm thinking 30-21, something along those lines. I really hope I'm wrong though.

Should be fun to see how Burks plays as you'd assume he'd get more reps this week than last and he could play a big role in shutting down Kerryon Johnson(who also kinda feels like he's ready to break out a bit this year).

Sucks that they let the line judge overrule the other two on that. It doesn't look like the call on the field would have been overturned either way.

I always love it when the guy furthest away from the play makes a call that he couldn’t see, and there’s no way it can get overturned.
