Packer Punks

I'm in the group (that seems to be the minority) that doesn't enjoy the taunting, especially while a play is still live. I do think that is something that could cost the team as there have been countless examples in professional sports over the years.

That being said, if I am going to go off about the NFL being unwatchable, this is pretty far down on my list compared to officiating pass interference, over protecting QBs, and having to watch multiple kids get carted off the field with head injuries within a 3 hour span.

Congrats! Skip Bayless agrees with you!

If you and Skip every share the same opinion on something, change.
"This is a very simple game. You throw the ball, you catch the ball, you hit the ball. Sometimes you win, sometimes you lose, sometimes it rains." Think about that for a while.

It's no less of a production than a summer blockbuster. Saying stuff about the Packers is a click machine. As is pretending to defend the Cowboys, America's lightning rod as it pertains to football. I don't know how anyone over 13 watches those Bayless-type shows or listens to a word those figures say.

I don't object to the idea of celebrations, I get more annoyed when they turn cliche and lame. Spontaneous, immediate Lambeau Leap? Still cool. Player walking over to the wall 2 minutes later and half jump? Stupid.

Defense's new celebration is getting old already, especially dumb when they do it after a turnover that is reversed. I love instant emotion, celebration, etc. Pre-arranged slow developing group stuff is just not the same.

Don't really care about any of it though, just saying.

Taunting is the only thing I hate to see (though I did laugh when Jones did it). If you hit a home run, score a touchdown or pick off a pass, you should have some right to celebrate it*. If you don't like it, don't let them make a big play.

*The Nick Barnett Samari celebration after tackling a runner 12 yards downfield should be banned.

Oh...yeah, that's just awful. I saw a player....I think it was Nebraska vs OSU last weekend. The "Cornhusker," tackled someone for a loss on a jet sweep play maybe? And he was out there flexing down by 30 acting like he had just forced a fumble in a tie game.

I like the Packers and all, but the following has bugged me this year-

- The needless and classless clowning around after a Packers score or Packer defensive TO, ala group show. It would be flagged and headline new if done in college or high school, but the NFL condones stupidity. Terrible role modeling....

- Jones waving bye bye today to the running back and the trash being talked to Prescott

- Prima Dona stuff with Rogers almost weekly, mainly taking little jabs with the coach

Tougher to really cheer the team with all this happening...

Hey man, nobody's forcing you. I feel like I just found one of those guys who was constantly tapping me on my shoulder for standing too much during Packers games.

You did. The only part of this dumb thread that has any merit by pure coincidence is the bye-bye wave as it definitely would have been a taunting flag if seen by the official.

You've got a point on that. If you get a 15 yarder it's not the end of the world, but it's not smart. But Jones was asked about it after the game and he said he didn't even remember it. I just liked that they were playing free and playing confident.

Was the Rodgers discount double check a real hindrance to the development of the youth of WI? Oh it seemed like everyone loved that, I wonder what the difference is

What are you implying?

HE'S IMPLYING THAT THERE'S A DIFFERENCE WHEN A BLACK ATHLETE CELEBRATES VS WHEN A WHITE ATHLETE CELEBRATES! THAT THE DIFFERENCE MAY BE RACIAL.

Why do we whisper about this and play games by asking these questions? It's a fair question. There's implicit bias that sometimes we don't even know is there. I think it's obvious what he was implying and I am fairly certain you did as well and I think it's a fair question.
