As far as I can tell, it is not possible to commit obstruction if you have the ball. Cain did not touch the catcher until he had the ball, so obstruction cannot be one of the possible calls on that play.

If the throw forces the catcher into the base path it is the defenses fault and it should be called. Make the fielders throw the ball to the proper place. Otherwise the rule is dumber than i thought.
