It’s nice that Cubs-cards is an hour ahead of us. Maybe that will help with bullpen decision making.

Why? We win today and tomorrow has to matter. I don’t see how the Cardinals outcome either way will sway our decision making. You pitch guys multiple innings today and they can still be available Monday (though maybe not in multi inning capacity) and would be full participants Tuesday if we don’t get to play Monday.

It probably won’t really effect much tomorrow either. If those guy don’t end up in a game today they probably pitch tomorrow regardless for an inning as they haven’t played in days at that point. Doubt we have guys not pitch from Thursday until Tuesday.

And if the Nationals win before we even play there is no chance we host the WC either.

I've heard that if we tie the Cards and lose game 163 we will host the Nationals even if they have a better record.

No, I don't believe that's correct. We can tie the Cards and if the Nats have a better record, they are still WC1. It's just that game 163 will have no bearing on WC standings.

Thanks for the correction. There was a tweet from McCalvy this week that I misread, not seeing the "tied" part with the Nats.
