Nationals want nothing to do with Miller Park

Brian Dozier, who played for the Dodgers against the Brewers in last year’s National League Championship Series, explained why.

“I’ve been telling these guys, NLCS last year when I was with the Dodgers facing the Brewers, it’s the most electric stadium I’ve ever been a part of my whole career,” Dozier said. “I mean, when you pack that stadium out, it was electric and it gets so loud. ... I’m not saying we can’t win there, by any means. But I think it’s important we try to stay here for sure.”

Saw Haudricourt noted the other day that home NL wild card teams are 2-5. He theorized that pitching matchup has mattered more than location. So we go there but they can't pitch Scherzer, deal?

Actually, I just hate how impossible a Cincinnati-Denver-Washington-if win Los Angeles road trip sounds. Got to wear the team down eventually. A couple days at home would surely help. A couple off days followed by a trip to Atlanta would be the best.

That would be fine with them since I think they are going to start Strasburg anyway.

I feel like starting Stras would be overthinking...of course, Scherzer hasn't looked elite lately, but he seems like the more intimidating option. I suppose odds are both guys pitch anyway.

They should close it if they host it. That place does get quite rocking in the postseason thanks to the “dome” effect.

One thing to keep in mind: Once they reach the postseason, MLB - and not the Brewers - takes control of when and if the roof opens. It will not be the Brewers decision.
