"Dustin Pedroia doesn't have the strength or bat speed to hit major-league pitching consistently, and he has no power......He probably has a future as a backup infielder if he can stop rolling over to third base and shortstop." Keith Law, 2006

Yeah I probably wouldn't have the Cubs on here except for Schadenfreude.

Last night was a miserable ordeal. Flaherty's no-no broken up in the 7th by the edge of the fake grass carpet, 48 total K's in a 19 inning snoozer that probably broke some kind of record.

Shildt intentionally walks a guy to get to the only guy on either team that's hitting. The guy came in in the 9th and went 4 for 4. Another record! Now we got a day game on YOU TUBE and I don't what that's about!

That was kind of bizarre to me that they elected to pitch to the guy that was actually hitting in a game with 4 runs in 19 innings. It wasn't like it was already 2nd and 3rd either, it was 1st and 2nd so it made it easier to score the winning run by having the guy on third.

Wilmer "I was almost a Brewer and it made me cry" Flores with the big base knock.

Cards needing to pull Wacha due to an apparent injury. They do have an off day tomorrow so I'm not sure about what type of effects they'll have to deal with in their series vs the Cubs, but here is a look at how their bullpen situation is coming into today

Wacha leaving with injury

That is sub optimal for the Cards to have to go to the pen in the 2nd inning. They better hope this Mayers dude goes like 3 innings at least.
