So what happens if you make a mound visit when you have none left?

There isn’t a clear rule on punishment. I’d imagine the umpire would harass you a little bit to stop it and get back to the game. The rule states if you continue to break the rule they will do something...likely fines.

They need a penalty box like in hockey.

Do mound visit limits apply in the postseason? If so, I think I’d be willing to take the punishment.

I’d think so, I don’t recall from last year to be honest. There is no in game punishment. Going to the mound for a mix up of signs or to change signs isn’t suppose to count once you pass the limit. You can’t go and talk it out or bring the coach out...that would be a violation.

Who knew that "sign Kimbrel" was being done each time we brought some scrub into the bullpen, just without the three year, $45M commitment.

I feel like there was another poster in the IGTs (not BC92) that would bring up Kimbrel whenever the pen struggled. A little egg on face there.

I’m concerned that the Cubs are making the Cardinals believe they are a team of destiny. We don’t need that kind of juju out of St. Louis.

They can believe what they want, crew in their heads too. Flaherty can’t beat the brewers. Their bullpen’s overrated. Hitting is worse than MKE. They’re getting bounced quickly from the playoffs.

I like that both teams used like 9 pitchers each.
"Dustin Pedroia doesn't have the strength or bat speed to hit major-league pitching consistently, and he has no power......He probably has a future as a backup infielder if he can stop rolling over to third base and shortstop." Keith Law, 2006

A one game playoff in Washington against Scherzer (Strasburg if "lucky"), with a reward if we actually win of jetting cross country to LA is an impossible setup. Need some Cards losses, or at least Nats losses to get the game at home.

Funny.

Impossible set up?

We’ll be underdogs big time. Just the way Counsell wants it. Tremendous pressure on both those teams. None on us.

I think that if the manager or a coach makes the excessive visit the pitcher has to be removed. If it’s a position player the umpire instructs the player to return to his position and the player is subject to ejection if he doesn’t comply.

Note: If I raise something as a POSSIBILITY that does not mean that I EXPECT it to happen.

Question for everyone.

Would you rather face the Dodgers in a 5-game series or a seven-game series?

7’s the key number here. Think about it. 7-Elevens. 7 dwarves. 7, man, that’s the number. 7 chipmunks twirlin’ on a branch, eatin’ lots of sunflowers on my uncle’s ranch. You know that old children’s tale from the sea. It’s like you’re dreamin’ about Gorgonzola cheese when it’s clearly Brie time, baby. Step into my office.

"This is a very simple game. You throw the ball, you catch the ball, you hit the ball. Sometimes you win, sometimes you lose, sometimes it rains." Think about that for a while.
