I mean how does Lindsey score there? Just bad effort on D. Really bad.

Let's go Rodgers. Need more points.

Edit: We are just not in gear. And now more footage of he and a head coach arguing. Should be a fun week for those two to talk to the media.

I think it’s a combination of both. Rodgers is on the downside of his career AND his personnel is not very good outside of Adams and Jones.

I have two theories on the Packers’ offense:

1) Aaron Rodgers is no longer an elite QB

or

2) The Packers neglected offense for so long in the first round of the draft that they lack the personnel to be effective

The last time Aaron Rodgers was elite, Despacito was atop Billboard charts and Hacksaw Ridge was nominated for best picture. He's been pretty average since.

I think the offense will be fine. They show flashes of brilliance. It's gonna take a few more weeks to get the play calling and personnel in sync. The run defense was very disconcerting today particularly early. Hopefully they were just scheming to prevent big plays.

My personal take is this is what happens when you try a new offense with a veteran QB who has played his whole career under a different system, and open the season against 3 top 10 NFL defenses.

3-0 to open the season, could be a whole lot worse, I guess

That's a great point. These are arguably the three best defenses they will face all year.

That’s a healthy perspective. Thanks.

Nice win, I did a lot of complaining about our soft defense being exposed but in the end they really got it done. The Smith's have been money well spent and nice to see Gary getting more snaps and getting in the box score. I am starting to wonder if Rodgers is just a high end game manager at this point, his throwing the ball in the turf when not even under much pressure and subsequent body language was pretty annoying for a drive or 2. But he doesn't turn the ball over and our D gets them, that has been the story line so far this season.

Reading through this thread after the fact and you’d never know this was a win where the Packers never trailed.

You should see me watch the game on TV :)

The takeaways have us 3-0 rather than 1-2 maybe, 0-3. They really have been the difference in the season. That and the best punter in the league.

I'm really curious what you guys expected. LaFleur's is putting in a whole new offense and he's doing it while facing elite defenses. Did anyone really think this was gonna be like the 2011 season? I thought a 3-6 start was very realistic and even if they did start that poorly, they'd still have a chance to get hot and on a roll with the schedule over the final 9 games. Now they're sitting at 3-0 with Philly coming to Green Bay on a Thursday Night and we're talking about Rodgers not being elite?

Again, I just took it for granted this offense was going to struggle early on. First, they did even under McCarthy's offense for the most part, one that Rodgers was more comfortable in, 2nd offense is just always behind defenses in the first quarter of the season, but mostly, it's a whole new scheme. Not just for Rodgers to learn. For the OL to learn, for the WR'ers....

I'm thrilled with how this team has looked. They hit big time on the FA signings on defense, they look like they hit BIG on Savage....we're seeing just glimpses of what Gary can do when he ran through the TE and then just threw the tackle into Flacco and got the sack. Alexander/King is finally showing what it's capable of.

And Rodgers is still an elite QB....but when you're going up against that Bears defense, the Vikings and the Bronco's and you go 3-0 and you lead wire to wire in the last two and for most of the first one?

Look at what the team is doing on the first few series of the games. The way they went up and down the field on the Vikings, the way they were able to move the ball on the Bronco's. When you're in a new system that you're not familar with, that's pretty telling...at least to me what that offense is capable of. And the fact that they struggle after that just tells me that the 11 guys on offense just aren't on the same page yet. And who'd expect them to be.
