The Cubs are a very Breweresk 1 for 9 with risp.

What’s the major league average

AL - .260

NL - .264

Brewers are 2nd worst in all of baseball at .235.

Worst in the NL.

Team batting average is .246 so it's not like they are all that great the rest of the time.

So we win tonight and being optimistic that we sweep, time to root for the *gulp*-Cubs.

I'm thinking they're going down with a whimper. They look very un-Cub like since that Pirate series ended.

Yah, I think they are pretty much dead at this point. The rush Kimbrel back and throw him into a tie game...he blows it. Rizzo screws up his ankle and he drugs up to limp around the field. Baez is gone these days.

I just can’t imagine that team streaking some wins together. They need a Brewers collapse at this point.

At this rate we might have a day or two to rest guys for the wild card game.

That would be nice but very premature to think about that. The opponents next week are going to be tougher than the Padres and Pirates, especially some of those Reds pitchers.

Note: If I raise something as a POSSIBILITY that does not mean that I EXPECT it to happen.

Boy the cubs are looking like babies compared to the brewers. Both have had tons of injuries down the stretch (I’d say we’ve had more) and had tons of below career norm play (again, I’d argue we have had more) but CC has these guys playing the best they’ve played all year. The future is not bright for the cubs and it’s great!

Not to mention the home field advantage for the WC game. That may go down to the end even if we clinch earlier than that.

I want HFA for the wild card game if for no other reason than I want to go to the game!

That’s how I feel about it, although my daughters who have jobs may not be able to go to a weeknight game that will last 4 hours.

Getting a WC spot but losing the WC game on the road wouldn't feel like making the playoffs.

Would losing a WC game at home feel like making the play-offs? I don't see the difference to be honest. A one game play-off loss just seems so anticlimactic.

I really don't like the one game play-off format.

Seems like a cheap way for any team deserving a play-off birth to go out.
