The inability to score runs without help from the other team is likely going to end any playoff run this year again just like last year

We outscored the Dodgers 24-23 last year in the NLCS.

So much for run differential.

About one-third of those were gifts from grandahl.

Good pitching beats good hitting. That and a few clutch hits at the right time can win a lot of games.

What does good pitching do against bad hitting though

I can’t imagine this offense going against Max Scherzer in a potential wild card game. Yikes.

We beat the Nationals 5-3 when we faced Max earlier in the year.

Yelich was 1 for 4 with a single & walk, but we still had Shaw/Aguilar starting so that kind of cancels it out.

Plus Chacin pitched for us.

Anything can happen.

I kinda feel for the Bucs. We've been there done that.

I remember the part from the old musical Damn Yankees where Applegate, the devil tells Lola to repeat his mantra “Never feel sorry for anybody. Never feel sorry for anybody...”.

Once you start feeling sorry for a team they’ll come back and bite you.

"Whatever Lola wants Lola gets" (isn't this song from that musical?).

Yes, along with the classic “You’ve Gotta Have Heart”.

Note: If I raise something as a POSSIBILITY that does not mean that I EXPECT it to happen.

It's going to be funny next year when Tyler Saladino is hitting .210 in June as this team's starting SS.

Jeez, who is getting injured for that to happen?

Free agent market for SSs is quite dismal looking. If we are tossing Arcia aside, Saladino might be the next man up.

The only thing more dismal than the SS free agent market is our current SS. He has arguably been one of the Top 5 worst players in baseball the last two years that has started nearly every day.

Of course trades are always possible too.
