I've always wondered: why is it a strike out after 3 bunts?

In the 1800s there was a strategy called the "fair-foul bunt" when the rule was that they counted as fair balls if they first landed fair, so players would try to have the bunt roll towards a dugout making it harder to field. Then they changed the rule so the bunt has to stay fair to be in play, so players would attempts many bunts really close to the line with many going foul causing ABs to last forever, so they added the rule about the 3rd foul strike = out.

Who was the only San Diego MVP winner in franchise history?

Edit: idk why i thought it got stripped. maybe just the initially outrage after it came out that he was a roider.

Yes it was Caminiti. I don't think any award has ever been stripped away in MLB history.

I was going to give the hint that the player was now dead to trick everyone into Gwynn but you guys got it quickly.

Tony Gwynn?

Nope

Oh well. I went for the low hanging fruit.

Speaking of Gwynn, he actually finished 4th for most hits in the 90s, surprisingly I think. Can you name the 3 players with more base hits from 1990-1999

1. 1754 H

2. 1747 H

3. 1728 H

4. 1713 H Gwynn
