Going to really suck if we can't get this one, even more if the Cubs win. I'd rather we do the 10-0 thing if we're going to lose because you can at least rest arms. But if we stay in this we're going to tax guys that matter and then come up short.

We are going to lose and we are going to lose on days the other guys win. I don't think dropping this game is particularly crushing. All that assuming we can't score a couple of runs in several innings.

If we drop this game it isn't the end of our season gentlemen.

Nobody said it is.

Note: If I raise something as a POSSIBILITY that does not mean that I EXPECT it to happen.

It's not that they'd be out of it, still in really good shape, it's just a pretty big blow in the divisional race to lose any ground with this few games left.

You're talking about having to go 9-1 over your last 10 just to force a tiebreaker if the Cards go just 6-4. The math just seems pretty unlikely. At some point you just run out of games.

They decided this was going to be a long shot when the fell flat earlier in the year against a string of teams they should have performed better against. It is what it is at this point. This won't be the part of the season where they blew it in my opinion.

No not at all. They are having another September to remember, as you say the summer stretch will be what really hurts if they fall short.

There aren't a lot of spots that I'm ok with a bunt but this is one of the rare ones. Decent bunter who is a bad hitter up, decently fast guy on 1st, contact hitter coming up next. Still not a definite place to bunt but an acceptable one.

Kind of hard to stomach a bunt on a guy who just showed he has no control at all so far though.

Not nuts about the bunt, but it is Arcia so I guess it's not a terrible move. You only have a few non-Yates outs left so I hate to waste one.

[sarcasm]Why wouldn't you have the pitcher bunt in that spot?[/sarcasm]
