Going to really suck if we can't get this one, even more if the Cubs win. I'd rather we do the 10-0 thing if we're going to lose because you can at least rest arms. But if we stay in this we're going to tax guys that matter and then come up short.

We are going to lose and we are going to lose on days the other guys win. I don't think dropping this game is particularly crushing. All that assuming we can't score a couple of runs in several innings.

but it's not like every guy suddenly forgot every piece of advice he gave

It's really not crushing. The two teams we are bunched with in the standings in the division are guaranteed 7 losses over the next week and a half. The playoffs are there for the taking for the Brewers, whether they come back tonight or not.

If we drop this game it isn't the end of our season gentlemen.

Lamet has over an 11 K/9 in the majors and it was even higher in the minors. He can do this to a lot of lineups on a good day.

When you throw mid to upper 90s with sharp slider and can command both pitches, you're going to strike out a ton of players - when Lamet is off he walks everybody, unfortunately tonight wasn't a night where he couldn't find the zone

Let's get a couple runs in the next few innings

Yup, he was just coming around last year before the TJ.

Good guy to draft next year in fantasy.

It's not that they'd be out of it, still in really good shape, it's just a pretty big blow in the divisional race to lose any ground with this few games left.

You're talking about having to go 9-1 over your last 10 just to force a tiebreaker if the Cards go just 6-4. The math just seems pretty unlikely. At some point you just run out of games.
