Nats @ Cards 6:45PM

Reds @ Cubs 7:05PM

Looks like everyone else is falling by the wayside.

Imagine what it's been life for fans of the Cubs and Cardinals the last month watching as the Brewers barely ever lose and creep up the standings. Those teams haven't played poorly, yet have slowly lost ground. If I were a fan of them, I'd be very frustrated.

Deja Vu to last year

3-1 now. RBI double from Schwarber. Castellanos is ablaze. Dude is making serious bank this last month or so.

He probably is but smart teams aren't likely to go after him just for this streak. This is what he has been his entire career. Hack in the field, gets insanely hot for a month at a time and then is kind of terrible for a few months as well. He has had a stretch like this every season of his career.

Catching the end of Cubs/Reds on ESPN. This announcing team might as well be the Cubs' home crew. Horribly biased.

Tim Kurkjian. Didn't see it but I heard he was clearly annoyed that the Brewers were winning again.

Add in David Ross and there you go.

Ken Rosenthal and John Heyman like the crew. Both said so. And Kevin Millar picked the brewers to win the World Series over the Twins, before the year started, and still is sticking with them. Says they just have the “it” factor. He can’t explain it.

Doug Glanville talks up how great the Brewers are playing, and then proceeds to declare they aren't making the playoffs. Gosh being the underdog is pretty awesome. This team is making a lot of talking heads look bad with every win.

I was watching that too and I just laughed when he said he sees the Brewers not making it. Like, you just layed out all the reasons they can "sneak" in, Doug! But sure despite the Cubs and Cards combining for 7 guaranteed losses in the next week it's the Brewers that are in trouble. :rolleyes

In my mind the Brewers are clearly sitting in the best position. I know these talking heads think they don't have the pitching but again the schedule is very soft and the Brewers pitching has been strong lately. Just pray they manage to stay hot a bit longer and put some space between one of these teams.

Also every time they mention Yelich is hurt being a reason they'll fail I just throw up my hands and say what about Baez and Rizzo? Yelich is one guy but there's two for the Cubs. Do these guys even think things through before they speak?
