3-2 nats after 6 - Cards managed to plate a run after a strikeout...figures!

Let's get 6 more outs before the Pads score again - at least one of the Cards or Cubs are going to lose tonight.

Realistically which team do we want to win this game though? I mean I think our playoff odds are better if the Nats lose and we gain a game on them. But if I could choose the results I want the Cardinals to be out of the playoffs. We historically play so poorly against them I want nothing to do with them come the postseason.

Ultimately if we can win the division that's the way to go so maybe Cardinals to lose for now?

And I want no part of the WC game, even if I think CC and the guys would handle that with aplomb. Too many variables in a one-game setting. Division all the way.

I'd want the Nats to win, simply because the Cards have given the Brewers the most trouble overall this year and historically in the playoffs. That and I can't stand STL.

I think our playoff odds actually might improve more with the cards losing compared to the nats, because it gets the Brewers closer to two playoff spots instead of just a WC berth - particularly with the Cards still needing to play 7 more games against the Cubs (while the Nats play other opponents not vying for these same playoff spots)

If the Brewers and Cubs are tied after tonight, and we can't be better for 11 games against San Diego, Pitt, Cincinnati and Colorado, while they play STL seven times, I don't really care to see us in the playoffs. At this point I'm gunning for the division because we really have no excuse for not overtaking the Cubs. We likely have to suck for that to happen.

Very true - but it would be so much better to have the Cards 2 games or less in front of the Brewers for the division before those two teams start beating up on each other - if the Crew stays hot they could scoot right past both clubs and take the division away outright, leaving them to duke it out for the 2nd WC spot.
