I’m obviously aware of the aura of Coach Cooper due to the frequency he comes up in the in game threads, but who is he? Seriously

Last season a Cubs fan troll joined and posted in several IGTs pretending to be a middle aged Brewer fan from Kenosha. His posts got more and more weird, and he continued to bring up his hardened Little League mentor, Coach Cooper, who stressed baseball fundamentals or else. I think Coach Cooper was obviously inspired by Morris Buttermaker.

Pretty good summary. Poster related everything in MLB to what he did in little league, most of which things Coach Cooper stressed.

Thank you

I think it all started with someone hoping the Cubs would lose, and that guy said his old Coach Cooper didn't believe in scoreboard watching. You should take care of your own business, and not count on other teams to lose. It has only grown from there. It's one thing on this board that consistently makes me chuckle.

Coach Cooper.... aka Bill Brasky... Stood roughly 8'9'', 575 lbs and would eat a homeless man if you dared him

I can’t argue with that mindset though, although I always hope the Cubs lose.

I was wrong about picking up both Pom and Lyles. They have both helped turn this thing around since the break. Props to Stearns.

Always makes my soul smile to see someone on the internet admit they were wrong. Better yet, you didn't qualify it in any way, bonus points!

Nicely done.

We couldn't have expected Will Smith to be as dominant as Pomeranz has been......

Lyles is a credit to Grandal and the staff who were adamant that his stuff was still good but his sequencing was bad in Pittsburgh.

At 82-69, the Brewers have secured a winning season for the sixth time in the last nine years.

They had six winning seasons in the 27 years years before that.

There’s a few cheapskate owner jokes in here but I’ll let Mark Antanasio’s record speak for itself.

"This is a very simple game. You throw the ball, you catch the ball, you hit the ball. Sometimes you win, sometimes you lose, sometimes it rains." Think about that for a while.

Chaim Bloom is going to take over a team with a lot of talent when he's hired as this team's new GM this offseason.

I know he probably won't win it but if CC gets this years crew into the playoffs after losing Yelich along with Hiura, Moose and Woodruff for crucial stretches he deserves consideration for manager of the year.

Just keeping the team in the race for the majority of the year should get CC the manager of the year. All of the other teams are playing to expectations while most had the Brewers regressing this year.

Last year it was a coin flip between CC and the Braves manager. This year I am not so sure about and if the Brewers make the playoffs it should be his to win.

Brewers have had a losing season 6 times in the past 15 seasons. They had 12 straight losing seasons before that. 78-92 the Brewers were a good team overall and then 05-19 they have been a good team. If they can keep this window going and be good for a couple more years it will be the best overall stretch in franchise history. Adding a WS appearance would obviously make it even better~.
