2019-09-16: Padres (Richards) at Brewers (Davies) [Brewers win, 5-1]

Eye Black
That Aquino guy for the Reds sure has fallen off a cliff after a hot start. I guess the book is out.

No doubt!

I rode him for his hot streak in 3 of my 4 fantasy leagues, he was out of control ridiculous for a while.

Cold as ice for a long time now though.

It's been a month or more now. Saw an AB of his that would make Arcia look like Babe Ruth.

but it's not like every guy suddenly forgot every piece of advice he gave

Who started this non stop trend of umpire complaining? My gosh, it looked like it was a ball on the lil tracker box by a sliver. Or it hit the strike zone by a sliver.

It is okay, I will get off your lawn now.

Those don't bother me. The ones that really bug me are the ones that are clearly off the plate that are called a strike and then the ones that are clearly in the strike zone that are called a ball. Yesterday's game was a clear example of this the umpire missed at least 4 or 5 calls of clear balls and strikes but were not called as so.

The only time the ones that are a on the edge of the strike zone bother me is when an umpire is not calling them consistently. If it is a strike for one pitcher it better be a strike for another. It really bothers me when an umpire changes the strike zone depending on who is pitching or who is batting.

We didnt have a box to show us a decade ago, maybe it was longer ago than that? Idk. But its the inconsistency that sucks. Players, managers, fans can live with a low strike zone, giving a pitcher a big outside corner.....whatever. As long as its consistent.

Those boxes on the screen obviously have a lot to do with it. I wonder sometimes how accurate the boxes are.

Note: If I raise something as a POSSIBILITY that does not mean that I EXPECT it to happen.

I like games under three hours. To the other games with playoff implications thread!
