This is the match up you want. A red hot team squaring off against a pitcher facing MLB hitters for the first time in over a year following a major elbow injury. The next ones will be tough. Paddack is a really good starting pitcher and Lucchesi's best start of the year was against the Brewers in San Diego. Lamet hasn't been a slouch either.

It won’t matter much, all the games will probably be close, nail biters, just like 90% of the previous games. I like our experience winning these types of games. But, it sure would be nice if we could get a blow out victory in one of these games, to reset the pen.

Garrett Richards, if I remember correctly, has always had absolutely wicked stuff...but has struggled staying healthy. I definitely am a bit concerned. A little browsing and I found he'll be limited to a 60-65 inning pitch count. I honestly doubt they let him go over 4 innings even if he's super effective. Below is a link to his milb stats over the last 2 months. Very meh stats at pretty low levels...despite all that, don't sleep on this guy. He's definitely capable of having a good outing against us.

Paddack has been pretty hot lately if I recall. These will be tough games. Get the first one, and go from there!

I believe the Padres plan to shut Paddack down after his start against the Crew, so I'm sure he'll want to let it rip as well. Dinelson Lamet has been a strikeout machine since he came back from injury, and Lucchesi is a high strikeout lefty which isn't a great matchup for the Brewers. But this team has been resilient and winning close games, I like our chances at home.

Miller park will be packed tonight, I hope, right?

Or all week for that matter

My parents are big poto people. They received an offer for 4 tickets to any Brewers game for free, just have to pay the $3 order processing fee. I wouldn't doubt they are doing other similar giveaways or finding ways to get butts in the seats. For that among competition related reasons, I think it will be pretty busy this week.

I sure hope so. They're running lots of promos this week for the Padres series.

I'm going Saturday and Sunday. Still toying with the idea of making the trip in for either Tues/Wed.

I see a lot of those "free" tickets up for sale on sites so I wouldn't doubt if it is a light crowd tonight. I'll be there though!
"This is a very simple game. You throw the ball, you catch the ball, you hit the ball. Sometimes you win, sometimes you lose, sometimes it rains." Think about that for a while.

Richards has historically had reverse splits actually. I wouldn't be overly concerned about splits in this case though, I would try to stagger RH and LH and play my best bats.

Grisham

Grandal

Moose

Braun

Thames

Cain

Spang

Arcia

P

If Hiura is available, probably bat him 6th with Cain 7th and Arcia 8th. If Cain isn't available, Gamel takes his spot batting 6th with a plan to PH Austin for Thames later.

Kinda surprising looking at Spangenbergs stats that he's only at 254/275 with MIL this year. Just seeeems he's been doing much better than that. Just ran through and looks like he played 16 games at SS in AAA this year and has gotten in two this year as SS in MLB. Bringing it up in regards to once Hiura is back if he'll get some starts at SS over Arcia. based on those numbers maybe not so much
