The only thing better than the Packers beating the Vikings at home would be Ryan Braun hitting a game-winning home run at Busch.

After saying that this morning, I feel like I should be going to Vegas, or, at least, playing the lottery. :laughing

Epic call! I want to tag along on your Vegas trip please!?

If you watch the video on MLB.tv it's hilarious how many go up at the exact same time.

My narrative is the pitching coach is responsible for the overall performance of the pitching. Check the stats. It hasn't gone well.

Your comment was literally that the gopher ball Hader served up was the fault of Chris Hook. That is incorrect. The pitching staff isn't good because it isn't good. Not because Chris Hook makes a significant difference one way or the other. You can change the goal posts all you want.

This team throws too many hittable 0-2 pitches. It also walks the first batter coming out of the pen just like Black did today. I don't know why or whose fault it is but both need to get cleaned up this last two weeks.

just to follow that up, they have pitched to a 4.27 ERA over that last 28 days and a 3.62 ERA over the last 14 days. Both are significantly better than their season number. That just so happens to coincide with one of (if not THE) their winning-est stretches of the year. So yeah, you are both wrong and peddling an inaccurate narrative. I have been one of the biggest critics of this pitching staff from day one but if Hook gets the early season blame he gets the late season credit.

Do you have any statistical evidence that this is accurate and/or that it happens more than league average or is this just your opinion?

Yup, I've watched it 7 or 8 times, now. Each time is better than the last.

At 50 seconds comes to payoff, for me. Almost dead centered in the frame, in a shot of Brauny's home run from a camera looking towards the first base side, there's a guy in a white Cardinals tee shirt, with dark glasses and it looks like a backwards hat on. His arms are crossed prior to the pitch. When Brauny jacks it, he raises his left arm up, and lowers it in disgust, no doubt voicing some expletive.

That just made my day!!!

This is so much fun. Ryan Braun just lifted his leg, and tinkled all over Cardinal fans' weekend.

Washington isn't even safe. And they play STL now. The Brewers are really in a terrific spot right now if they can do what they haven't done basically all year, beat up a bunch of awful teams.

Not too long ago the brewers were only one game over .500. Now we're 2 weeks from the finish line and still playing games with meaning.

If the Brewers end up falling short, I’m going to be looking at that 28-36 stretch from mid June to late August that included a lot of losing series to bad teams as the reason why.

Can tell a beaten down, long time suffering brewer fan. Deep breath, relax and have some fun with this flawed, but fun and unique brewer team. Don’t look back, the past doesn’t matter, look ahead, that’s all that matters. Good things happen when you least expect them to.

If you ignore the past you are doomed to repeat it. They most certainly should look at the past and learn from that experience going forward. It matters a great deal.

Watch the games bro. If you think Hook needs to stay which is what you said we disagree. We shall see what happens. I say he's gone.

Figures.

Go ahead and tell me how ruminating on the stretch of games he’s wanting to do if we don’t make the playoffs is related to your take on ignoring the past, doomed to repeat.

Not your bro. I watch about 150 games a year and I see pitcher after pitcher missing spots and failing to execute. If you want to fire Hook, fine. I never said he was a great pitching coach but I'm certain he isn't telling pitchers to groove pitches. This won't get better until the pitchers get better and you can change pitching coaches all you want.

If that sentiment has to be explained, it probably isn't worth explaining to the person that needs it explained.

It's every board, it's normal reaction to bad things happening to your favorite baseball team.

That is why it is stupid to ridicule people here for reactions typed during game threads...

I count at least 10 full surrender cobras. My nephew texted it to me before the top of the 9th was over with the comment "Beautiful"

The KMOX replay is available and hearing the Braun and Thames ABs does not disappoint. After a minute or so of minimalism they come up with "This could be a devastating blow for the Cardinals."

I think there's real danger at looking at full season stats in this case and ignoring ignificant recent improvement. That may indicate delayed buy-in.
